Does anyone remember if The Game is with Jonathan Frid or not?

I don't recall a rule that he had to be in them, though that seemed understood since he planned to present them along with commentary.  (The instructions only called for voters' 5 favorite scenes, and more specifically the ones they always cherished.)  However, the deadline for voting came and went, and currently there's no plan for a Game at next year's Fest, but members are welcome to start topics to discuss favorite scenes according to whatever criteria they wish.  [smlyb]

Jeannie,

Best wishes to you for a smooth and speedy recovery!

Rebecca Staab also makes a brief appearance in the 2nd Season premiere of The Mentalist ("Redemption") playing a character named Maggie.

I don't think CBS airs full eps of that show, but you can already watch this ep on MEGAVIDEO:
http://www.megavideo.com/?v=EG0M9F9Q

Something I noticed that's really wild is that a house that figures very prominently in The Mentlist ep-- the sale house that the lead character and two other regulars stake out and can be seen breaking into, is the same house that "Daphne Collins" (Staab) can be seen walking completely past after she leaves the Blue Whale on the way to her car in the '91 DS.

And yes, it's scary that I would notice this.  Scarier still is that I posted a pic of the house not long ago-- [rleyeb]

If Charity were going to believe that somebody was so evil as to be a werewolf, I'm betting she would choose Tim Shaw to be that person.

True that-- had Tim been in it, he probably would have become the werewolf.  But in that dream, the wolf merely shows up to interrupt her tryst with Quentin, who stays human.

The Sept. 13 segment about GL on 60 minutes included DS alum Ellen Wheeler, the soap's Executive Producer, whose teary-eyed interview (and energetic antics!) can be seen here during the segment's 2nd half:

I want to know what vitamins she takes.

We saw psychic abilities before, when Charity had the dream about Quentin that you, Midnite, dislike so much.  Maybe Charity had ESP all along, but repressed it because she knew from her father that such things were the devil's work - but she didn't really want to repress it, especially when Carl started talking rhapsodically to her about his Pansy.

Well, I can't say I found the dream all that precognitive.  Charity had just been chased back to Collinwood by the werewolf, where she hysterically proclaims that no one is safe while it's on the loose.  And then, before Charity turns in, Magda reads her cards and interprets the Moon in the spread as a bad card that's associated with deception, and she warns her to avoid a dangerous man who will soon be in her life, all the while knowing (as do we) that Charity has the hots for Quentin.  As she dreams, her subconscious seems to connect the dots from there-- there's a passionate rendezvous with Quentin (accompanied by, of course, his one and only song), some talk about the power of the moon, and then Quentin remains passive while the werewolf menaces her.

Oh wait, there IS something that doesn't fit-- the writers added a recitation of "Shadows of the Night" to the dream.  Unless we're supposed to believe that it's a popular song in that era, how could Charity know the lyrics for Quentin's music?  But I suspect the goal was to titillate young fans (and sell more records) rather than to convey the message that Charity could, at this point, foresee the future.

Pre-I Ching, her small bedroom was upstairs in the West Wing.  But during the post-I Ching 1897, it's a much nicer room in the servants' quarters, which are located beyond the door that's under the staircase landing.

A Grayson Hall v.o., yay!  Magda is just what the doctor ordered for the tedium.

Pansy Faye to Quentin:  "The reason I've hung around here so long is you, not Carl."
It's a bit of a shocker, but now we know the reason that Pansy's spirit remained at Collinwood long after Carl's death.  And in my mind, it explains how Petofi was able to cause Charity's possession without his having crossed paths with the living Pansy.

I think "Charles Wilkins" was one of the names read from the headstones.  Petofi called it a feeble name.  Take that, Dirk Wilkins.  [ghost_wink]

I liked how Petofi used the window to make Charity see her future.

So, is Petofi's magic cupboard really magical after all?  I mean, if the window served an identical purpose, does this mean he's able to project the visions onto pretty much anything-- a fireplace hearth, a serving tray, inside a Coach purse?

Petofi told Charity that his vision would be about her, but it ended up being about Aristede and himself instead! [shkdg]

Let's see-- the attempt to show Barnabas his death turned into a glimpse at David's death, the death shown to Beth was phoney, and Charity's fate was nowhere to be seen.  Hmm, Petofi is 0 for 3.

(I doubt Petofi lent Aristede any assistance in this endeavor).

Did you purposely avoid saying that he didn't lend him a hand?  Just curious.

Buh bye, Charity!

From another topic:

...the death of Alan Spaulding occurred during this final week of CBS' The Guiding Light.  DS fans may recall that the role was originated by Christopher Bernau, and the character was also briefly played by '91 series alum Wayne Tippit.
