Thanks so much for the scan, MB!

How odd.  It looks from what I can see of your scan as if they're claiming that Christopher Lee did 12 Dracula films.  But from my own knowledge of his work, I make it seven Hammer feature films, plus El Conde Dracula directed by Jesus Franco in 1969 (produced in Spain, with Klaus Kinski a very disturbing Renfield) and a cameo as Dracula in The Magic Christian.

There was 1975's "Vem var Dracula?"-- a Swedish documentary; also "Cuadecuc (Vampir)"-- a documentary about the making of Franco's movie, and a quick cameo in the comedy "One More Time," both from 1970.  His last appearance as the Count was in "Dracula and Son" ("Dracula Père et Fils") in 1976.  Hmm, I must've overstated because that makes 13.

Current Talk '09 II / Re: Discuss - Ep #0833
« on: October 26, 2009, 05:12:27 AM »
I cheered while watching this ep.  And no, it wasn't because Quentin and Amanda kissed (it definitely was not that!)... What made me happy was that Charity/Pansy MOVED OUT!!  Yes, Carl's "beguiling songstress" <cough!> packed the tablecloth-turned-shawl and beat a hasty retreat.  Yay, my dog and I can get a respite from her screaming and screeching.  If only she had
actually left town,
then I would be ecstatic.

While she departed Collinwood in one of Charity's dresses, I'm going to take a wild guess that her green hat (which clashed with the other greens she was wearing) and boa were purchased post-possession.

First I have to comment I admire Charity/Pansy's smarts...she knows a troublemaker when she knows one.I do consider golddiggers troublemakers,
Because I find her to be such an inconsistent character, I can't decide if we're to believe that she was having a moment of clarity when she assessed Amanda's character, or if she was simply being paranoid about a pretty young thing being within proximity of Quentin.  On the one hand, yes, Amanda is a lying gold digger, but C/P was wrong seconds later when she accused Amanda of playing Quentin's "theme" on purpose, and there's no freakin way that she would be in a position to throw Gregory out of the house even if she had a chance in hell of marrying Quentin.  So are we to believe that she can be perceptive and then delusional a split second later?

Quentin to Amanda:  "Now come on, we don't have any secrets at Collinwood."
Ha ha ha!

Quentin:  "Don't you dance?"
Amanda:  "I do."
What a huge in-joke, especially after this (DM's showstopping dance to "Turkey Lurkey Time" at the Tony Awards ceremony earlier that year): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EktVzsYjMJk

Q to Gregory:  "I was initiating Miss Harris into the rites of the moon worshippers."
Rim shot!

The earth-toned afghan has moved to Charity's bed in this ep.

Um, shouldn't Quentin be hiding his portrait in wolf-form?

In today's LA Times Calendar (click for the online version of the article):  All for her art
As phony as her gallerist character in '(Untitled)' might seem, 'there's a purity to her,' the actress says. Watch for the tears.

Lydia, we might be talking about the same room but calling it something else.  In both eps, the picture hangs in the anteroom outside Quentin's bedroom, though not in the same spot.  That outer room has furnishings and a fireplace and stained glass window (it underwent a drastic change by 1969), but to get into the room with the gramophone and the other fireplace-- the one I call Quentin's room-- you have to go through another door.

And thanks.

We get our first look at Amanda (the 3-D version) wearing the hideous pink CD Tate original.  And instinctively, she knew to pin the jeweled brooch exactly where he painted it.

Now there are Beth, Angelique, Charity and Amanda all vying for Quentin.
An early version of Psychos for Selby, ha!  [hall2_wink]

I don't, so far, see any indication that either of them is feeling anything more than lust.
Same here.  Their attraction seems purely superficial at this point.

Quote
I keep having this problem with Petofi stating there will be a price for removing the werewolf curse from Quentin.  I know that when Quentin was a werewolf, he would have agreed to anything at all in return for freedom from the curse - but it still bugs me.  Even Angelique stated her terms to Quentin before she set about helping him - although I daresay that was only because she knew she couldn't force Quentin to marry her, so she had to get his prior consent.
And here I was thinking that what Petofi said constituted a nice bit of continuity.  This is part of a scene from #801/2 in which Petofi tells Quentin that there would be a price for helping him; Petofi alluded to it in the current ep when he told Quentin, "You begged for help (and I gave it to you)":

Quentin shakes the latter opener threateningly at Petofi, demanding the cure. Don't anger him, begs Magda. Petofi asks her, should I hypnotize Quentin?--or paralyze him completely, leave him here, and when the moon comes out--would you like that, gypsy? Magda begs Q, let him go! For once, you are right, says Petofi, slamming his hand down on Quentin's wrist, making him drop the weapon. Nursing his injured wrist, Quentin asks, in a heartbreaking voice, "Why won't you help me? If you know what it's like, why won't you?" To get something, you must pay the price, says Petofi--a little bargaining, perhaps. I'm willing to bargain, says Quentin. You're only willing to cringe, says Petofi, to make inept excuses--you must learn--I paid my price (he holds up his false hand) you must pay yours!

Was that fair warning?  I think so.  Though of course "bargaining" implies cooperation, but we know that Petofi doesn't play well with others.  So his statement that there's going to be a "bill" for payment due shouldn't have been news to Quentin.  And I'm kinda thinking it woudn't qualify as a miilestone, but that's me.
