voiceover:  "Barnabas has revenged his death."
Make that a·venged.  Please.

So Carolyn Loomis is a screamer too.  Another reason for me to dislike this storyline.  I'd also forgotten that Quentin's bossy/nasty side shows up so soon.

Quentin:  (to Liz) "This is my wife. (to Maggie) "Darling, this is my cousin."
Quentin's wife, his bride, a girl, he's...bringing HER with him ... I think Carolyn was the only one besides Quentin to mention Maggie by name.

An afghan and some throw pillows are on the drawing room sofa, and a phone is on the foyer table... Once a distraught Carolyn enters Collinwood, you can pretty much guess from the props how the scene will play out.

How was Barnabas able to enter Bruno's house and confront Sky without having been invited in?

Sky and Barnabas talk--

Sky:  "He would have died anyway. He should have died after he destroyed the box and the shrine."
He had a point-- how long could Jeb have gone on living if not for his death below Widow's Hill?  (Can a manifestation drown?)

Barnabas:  "He married Carolyn and she was very happy with him."
I have no doubt that she loved Jeb, but happy, seriously??!  All I remember since their wedding just a short time ago is her fear, pain, guilt, nightmares, crying, multiple threats on her life, and lots and lots of screaming.

Sky:  "Nicholas made me do it."
The devil made me do it-- a line that Flip Wilson would make famous!

Okay, Sky was killed with one bullet, but the sheriff was puzzled because a total of 3 bullets were fired.  Was there a way to tell that those other 2 bullets weren't fired at some earlier time?

Julia's miming at the barrier to PT is hysterical.

A lawyer in that state would of course know better, and I don't know what the statute of limitations is for grand larceny (making an assumption there) in NY but it's probably a safe bet that it ran out years ago.

However... it might be a whole new ballgame for the person buying the stolen property.

Well, her right forearm does seem somewhat extended. But if you look closely at Lara Parker, she does have seemingly long arms. I honestly can't find too much wrong with the painting, other than that stupid lamp. I think the artist, whoever he or she may be, did a real nice job.
I've heard that Ms. Parker has a portrait from the show. Don't know if this is the one, but I think it's great.

Assuming that the PT portrait is the same one that used to hang in her mother's house, LP has said that it was painted directly over a nearly life-size photograph of her.

What, is he Superman? Forgive me, but I never did get it that Clark Kent was able to transform back and forth to Superman. What did he do with his clothes? Where did he keep them?

Nice, D_F!!!

I am just pointing out what the article's headline indicated, that WB has completed its 2011 release schedule. If WB was confident that DS would be released in 2011 the studio would have at least made reference to that even though it didn't have an exact release date

And I'm just saying that a movie such as DS that is actively in development but does not have a target release date wouldn't be included in a studio's release schedule.  But release schedules are always subject to change anyway.

2456
DS is not included.

Because it doesn't have a release date yet?

Every time Nancy Barrett screams, a star in a distant galaxy implodes and dies.  Yes, I believe that her work during this time period alone was responsible for countless black holes.  Seriously, the mere sound of her voice has my dog leaving the room, and it's because we've had quite enough of Carolyn's screaming.  While I dread what's coming up very soon for the character, I'm pleased that it also signals the end of Leviathans because that means there won't be anyone left (no more Paul,
Jeb
or Nicholas) to feed the bizarre dreams to Carolyn Hawkes or drive her to hysteria.  NB's shrieking and wailing caused me to reach MY critical mass.

Spirit of Nicholas:  "You are alone now, Sky. All alone. But I will help you. You must revenge this. Jeb Hawkes must die."
In a recent WP post, I said that "verse" used as a verb is a pet peeve.  Well, using "revenge" as a verb is another one.

Love love LOVE the psychedelic fx in the Widow's Hill dream!

But how can Nick die?  I never thought of him as being a human being who ever lived in the first place.

It seems that in the DS universe, a supernatural being can live as a human, but unless it loses its immortality, she or he can come back even after death.

I'd do all sorts of experiments with PT, taking pictures from the corridor, leaving a running clock (to check for missing time?) or movie camera in the room...

I'd love to read that report!

Roger to David: "I know where the action should be... in your bedroom!"   Well maybe if you let him have more friends in the house....  He'll regret saying that!

Who else but idiot Sky would turn up at Widows Hill to kill someone, then start strangling instead of taking advantage of this very conspicuous deadly cliff inches to his left, and just pushing her off?  Oh yeah, I'm standing on a cliff, I forgot!

LOL  That was such a silly cliffhanger.  (No pun intended, I swear!)

I think it's a pity that we didn't get to see the shadow curse passed around the way the dream curse was.  It would make a nice game of supernatural tag.

Once they introduced the loophole to the "shadow must kill" story, the curse began to sound an awful lot like the plot of "Curse of the Demon" (aka "Night of the Demon", or the short story that the movie was based on) with the paper cutout taking the place of the parchment, the pitiful shadow replacing the awesome demon, and Nicholas Blair playing the part of devil's emissary Julian Karswell.

It's a pity that Carolyn's dreams couldn't have continued,

Nooooooooo.

In the reshoot, Sabrina's wounds are oozing blood.  I realize that Chris was busy trying to find a doctor to treat her, but you'd think he would have the sense to clean or cover them.

Why is Quentin alone at Collinwood and answering the phone?

There were two clear shadows in one scene in the Old House foyer-- of the paper cutout and an ABC camera.

I totally accept it when Barnabas repeats "I must" for emphasis, but coming from Chris (to Sabrina:  "You must tell me what happened. You must.") it's just weird.

Nicholas believes that Sky is completely loyal to him.  Ha, obviously he doesn't know about Sky's recent change of heart!  The moustachioed one is occupying Bruno's pad, and apparently has remodeled it by adding an outer door (the same ones used for the carriage house).  Geez, Bruno's front door switched sides again, but Lela Swift was directing so there goes my theory that she preferred it on the right side.

Had Quentin not abandoned Barnabas, I think he could have at least prevented Sabrina from getting in Barnabas' face.  And come to think of it, he also promised Chris he would return to the cottage, so Quentin pretty much dropped the ball all around.

Selby like Karlen always adds much-needed reality to these situations.

Wonderful observation, MT.

Did Jeb say to Ang that he told her about Sky being a Leviathan?   And that it counts as a favor he did for her?

No!  And no!  Barnabas learned about Sky from Megan and wasted no time in telling Angelique, and Sky admitted it after she confronted him that same night (#954).  And in #968, she blamed Jeb for everything she lost, including her marriage to Sky, and this was her motivation for placing the curse on Jeb.  So when Barnabas said in this ep that, if not for Jeb, "You may never have known the truth. It would have been too late," Angelique should have known that was bull.

Apparently part of B’s vampiric powers are to summon another supernatural creature: Angelique!

He summoned her in 1897 too, which she heard as a high-pitched noise, but in the DS universe humans have managed to summon Angelique directly too, even long distance.

Quote
I think Chris Pennock did an outstanding job of differentiating between Jeb and Cyrus!

Oh me too!

I think Ang was only behaving like a human being, by choosing not to use her powers.   Her supernatural nature remained, I think.

Yes, Angelique is still both supernatural and a being who is putting her powers to full use, but was granted permission to live as a human by Diabolos.

Quote
When Angelique debuted, was there a feminist movement yet?

Absolutely.  Consider the feminist writings of Sojourner Truth, Susan B. Anthony, or Simone de Beauvoir, to name a few.
