Angelique to Quentin:  "There is always violence in love."
Now there's a scary peek into Angelique's psyche.

It seems she was so obsessed with the effects of her black spell that she failed to notice that Cyrus began talking about the premise of his experiment-- the one that was her idea to begin with-- right in front of her.

But for an example of total insanity, there's this conversation--
Cyrus:  "Maybe your love for Maggie was that..."
Quentin (slams hand down):  "CYRUS, I'M NOT GOING TO SEND FOR MAGGIE, SO DON'T YOU PURSUE IT ANY FURTHER!"
C:  "Quentin, I'm not pursuing anything and there's no reason to fight me on it."
Q:  "No, no, there's not. You think I should send for Maggie, don't you?"
C:  "That decision has to be yours."
Q:  "Yes, I suppose it does."
 [crazy]

And what was up with the sound of church bells over the image of Collinwood?

Now he's planning never to let Yaeger out again, and to forget his experiments and be a doctor plain and simple, doing good works.

I was fascinated by that revelation... until I saw that the bottle Cyrus was holding contained the antidote.  Wouldn't it have made more sense if he'd been contemplating all those things over the serum that would turn him into Yaeger?

I guess it's a good thing that The Hanging Man was inverted when Quentin laid it down, because otherwise he would have had to hang himself by his feet since that's the way the figure appears when the card is right side up. ;)

It's unfortunate that this is Paula Laurence's last ep as Aunt Hannah because I think she made a significant contribution to the show in the short time they used her.

I absolutely love that her final moment consisted of her character storming off-stage in an awesome black cape with red satin lining.

And even though he isn't identified, I suspect Selby fans might consider that it captures one of his attributes 'so beautifully' as well.  [b003]

Quentin told Barnabas that Alexis has been at Collinwood for a month, which is about right, yet for some reason Angelique's death is still being referred to as 6 months ago.

Shame on Gordon Russell for that awful, awful spell.  Spring water and mandragora?!  Of course it would make Quentin violent... violently ill!!!  That was no "potion" that Angelique poured into his drink-- try POISON.  And it had to have been the dullest incantation ever- "Quentin, hear me, hear my thoughts. You are deeply in love with Maggie. You can think of no one but her."  Ugh!

Angelique phoned her aunt's house at Collinsport 4099 from Collinwood, which has the number Collinsport 4099.  Why bother dialing at all?  The set dresser left a bellows for Hannah Stokes to stoke the flames.  (I'm easily entertained.)  She also traded in her navy blue dress for a navy blue pantsuit-- such a fashion risk taker!

There's a CD Tate hanging in the Collinwood study.

Just before Daniel said, "I know who you are," somebody rushed by on the lower left side of the screen.

I thought that this show was Angelique as usual. In RT and PT, didn't she understand you can't get a Collins man with a spell.

Though she wasn't trying to get Quentin to love her, but to want Maggie (a spell that worked on them in RT, and in this case it seems Quentin was already in love with his wife anyway), thus getting her there so Ang could fight against her on common ground.

They don't seem to have very many frames. They used the same frame that they used for Angelique's picture.
The painting ... also looks like it is housed in the frame that the original Angelique portrait (from 1968) was in.
Please please please read all the posts in a topic before submitting your own.  [beg]

Hey, Barnabas can disappear!   Why didn't he do that when being interrogated by Will?   And you can't say it's the cross, [spoiler]since he disappeared in front of Greg Trask with a cross![/spoiler] (previous storyline spoiler)

My best guess is that Barnabas had a coffin to go to in that other instance, but in PT his coffin was in the room with Will.

BC can hypnotize people into forgetting him.  I guess he hounded Julia to do it with the medallion just to give her something to do.

The children were usually very receptive to his hypnosis.

Quentin's yellow shirt is just doing nothing for me; however it's possible that it is to go along with the color them of PT.

Speaking of the colors of PT:  (Yikes!)

But WTH was up with this??!:

I love Angelique's Mumu! :)

Oops.  I guess I didn't have nice things to say about it under #1012.

And who do you suppose had the higher hair?:

Of course the ep ends with a blood curdling scream, this time from Angelique.  Another reason I hated it.

Sorry this was long.  At least I added visuals.  [ghost_wink]

Barnabas (at the end of #1011):  "I will no longer bow to fate."
Barnabas (at the end of #1012):  "I will not bow to fate any longer."
The first one sounds better, but I'm not sure why.  The scene was also much better lit the first time.  And in this ep, Will choked before Barnabas got the cord around his neck.

We learn why Joshua was the one to show up at Quentin's seance-- the ghost describes himself here as "dedicated to the protection of his family, both the living and the dead."

This ep seemed to last forever.  That's good.   Unless it was two ep's.

Just one.  Nice comments, btw. [smlyb]

Ah, the familiar glass-throwing Quentin is back. I started a drawing once that has Quentin knealing before the fireplace, strewn with broken glasses that he had deposited in his fits of... well, his fits.

Heh, heh.  I wish you'd finished it.

Has Angelique been in Mrs. Roper's closet!?

Ha!  Her long caftan is hideous.  (MB added a screen grab of it to the Robservation.)  The credits list Stanley Simmons as costume designer.  I'm not impressed.

It was a totally different Mausoleum but was it a redress??  Did they take out the boxes, change the door, move the lion's head, and the headstones and make it look different?  Or was it a totally new constructed mausoleum?

IIRC, different door, no coffins or lion's head, and walls were set pieces from both Collins and Stockbridge crypts

The hall outside the PT room got yet another look-- the pink faux marble now spills out into the hallway too.

Aaa!   The coffin sneaked up on him!   He couldn't see it because it was off-camera!
LOL

Wow, Yaeger can break padlocks and chains with his bare hands!  Yet the pearl handle [of Will's pistol] to his head knocks him out cold, hmm.

So Yaeger is appalled by the idea of becoming CL again but plots to hide in his identity only until it's safe to reemerge, and Cyrus (clearly guilty over what was done to Gladstone) must know about JY's plan and so he vows to never let his alter ego out again.  This should be the end of it, but we know it won't be for these two wild and crazy guys!

I have a gut feeling that the attorney is egging this on--the attorney wants to make money too--I don't think Joe's videos are on Frid's personal radar.
Maybe we could all contact the attorney & say that Joe is providing a valuable service to fans who can't make the fests--some due to finances, some due to health problems.

Surely some kind of agreement could be reached.

David, my personal belief (only!) about the situation is this:  I'm guessing that the attorney did not make money, JF probably knows about the videos, and I doubt the issue is negotiable.  But that's me.

Frid is not the only DS actor who objects to the sale of his personal image and performances.  Others gripe too, but they may be unwilling to rock the boat, and they probably don't have others around them who are willing to take on the issue as Nancy did for years as JF's producer, or have a handler during DS events over the past few years who happens to be a copyright attorney.

I'm sorry for what Joe experienced, but I think Nancy's suggestion that Frid be contacted through his site in advance of appearances sounds excellent.  You can't rely on the Festivals to anticipate what he won't want sold.

The only DS connection I spotted on NYCC's list so far was Hermes Press.  David Campiti (Innovation) won't be there this year.
