I guess that was James Storm doing the voiceover, and I wish it hadn't been. When Quentin was a non-speaking ghost, David Selby never did a voiceover, and his voice was a lovely surprise when we finally heard it in episode 701.

I'm imagining the writers having a conference and deciding, "OK, three days of getting nowhere is the limit, and after that we start losing viewers."
I said yesterday that Julia was uncharacteristically frightened, and now I see that the uncharacteristicness is the point. I wish there hadn't been a sound problem when she was talking in the Old House living room; I wanted to hear all she had to say about germs of evil being nourished inside her - or whatever it was that she said
According to Mrs. Johnson, there was a spirit of joy and love at Collinwood just before the bad thing came on the scene. Somehow I doubt that Barnabas and Julia will get the message that everybody's happier when they're not around.

emssherill! I have news for all you people that make fun of Quentin's wardrobe from this storyline: a lot of the things he wears, including that color of yellow shirt, are coming back in style. I was in JC Penny and Van Heusen this past Monday and saw dozens and dozens of them.
just think of how much fun it could have been to have had her around if McKechnie had been available - particularly because she could scream with the best of them...

She owns the portrait of Angelique from NoDS (which was based on the one in this storyline) and a few years back there was a publicity photo published of her posing in front of it (which may be the same photo Midnite was referring to).
Not sure about either of the portraits from the series, though.
Points off for the by-now obligatory music-box theme. You're not allowed to have a music box theme if no music box is in the storyline...

Golly did Carolyn look awful! It was clear that there was a lot of makeup there, and I imagined Carolyn slathering it on every other morning or so. I thought of Carolyn as we first saw her in 1966, young and silly. It was terribly sad to see her so changed.In his DS Video Reviews, David Hofstede wrote that Nancy Barrett should sue "since she looks a lot better than the makeup people predicted." I suppose they meant for her character to have been through hell and back, but still...
The big oval light bulb lamp in the closing credits might be the one and only trace of anything "futuristic". I'm glad we at least got that.Yes, but it still doesn't make up for Stokes' hearing aid, which was obsolete by 1971. Ugh!

Had we seen "Finlay's Cove" before? Not bits of the set, I mean fictionally. B said PT Roxanne had lived there. Did we know that?Roxanne first mentioned Finlay's/Findley's (?) Cove in #1058 when she said she was returning to her house there.
Is this on Collins property?Possibly, since Julia knew about it and considering the current occupant, but I really don't know. The fishing shack that burned in 1967 was, and in 1840 the focus shifts to one on Indian Cove.
Everything makes a lot more sense than usual in this one, up until the point when Will uses the cross on BC as instructed, and BC refrains from overpowering Will's will (as he'd just done a couple of minutes earlier) to get out of the room, and resorts to a trick or violence to get the cross out of Will's hand, or something.That thought didn't occur to me, but I think the action that we saw made sense. By the time Barnabas escaped from the secret room, he had lost the ability to concentrate on anything but wanting Maggie, so he wouldn't be able to concentrate on overpowering Will's will.
Has Stanley Simmons doing the costuming because of HODS or is he even knew? His name doesn’t sound familiar. Perhaps he was brought in to give PT its look!
