I know I'm not the only one who chose not to read those descriptions in the article, but just looked at the photo.  And it seemed as if people were putting that information in tags on previous pages.  Anyway, it was a spoiler for me.  I don't mean to sound confrontational, but it was.

Point taken.  I'm aware that there are a few instances when spoiler tags were used since the article came out, done at the poster's discretion, but that hasn't always been the case-- there's an earlier post about Barnabas' release that wasn't treated as a spoiler.  MB and I feel it's better to be safe than sorry, so we don't discourage using spoiler tags, but as for hiding all officially released info about the movie, I don't feel we can possibly know for sure what photos are being seen or not being seen by individuals, or what articles, blogs, status updates and tweets that contain official info about the movie are being read by visitors here and which of these are being skipped.

Sheriff Patterson is admiring a Collins portrait when Roger comes downstairs. Roger tells him the portrait is of his great-uncle Benjamin Collins. Hmmm....

Roger said it's a portrait of his Great Uncle; wouldn't that make him a brother to Judith, Edward, Carl and Quentin?  But it was the Sheriff who said the subject in the foyer was Benjamin Collins, and Roger responded with sarcasm about the purpose of his visit without giving any indication if he got it right or not.  Yet for sure Liz pointed out Benjamin's portrait in the drawing room ("Isaac, Jeremiah, Theodore, Benjamin"), and I'm more inclined to believe that Liz got it right and the Sheriff got it wrong.

The first part of arashi's post is a detail from the character descriptions in the published article that provided our first look at the official cast photo in this topic, so it's not a spoiler.  The second part is her speculation.

AAAAA, I love it!!!

You're right, Lydia-- we didn't see them interact (in their only scene together, Bill wasn't aware of David's presence), but what bothered me wasn't that David didn't mourn Bill but that he didn't grasp Carolyn's obvious discomfort despite having been warned that everyone was feeling sad.  On the other hand, he apparently doesn't see death as final.  The writers seem to be establishing a rule through David-- that victims will come back as ghosts if their murders go unsolved.

Wasn't Maggie joking about the food?

Burke's all set to canonize Bill Malloy.  Very silly.

I thought that was touching.  But agree that his shock over the news was weird.

LOL, DarkLady!

The Sheriff stopped wearing his gun-- a wise choice, since it seemed out of place during his last official Collinwood visit.  And hey, that's a nice safe in the police station; maybe Sam should ask to store his letter there, heheh.

What did Joe call Bob le Bartender?   Pudgie?
Punchy

I can't decide if David lacks empathy, or if his familiarity with ghosts makes him unable to grasp why other people mourn death.

BTW, Carolyn referred to Josette as "the first Mrs. Collins," soooo... all the women of Collins men who came before her were baby mamas?

I seem to recall that
in an earlier episode David killed something he loved.
Oh gosh, what am I forgetting?

A friend let me know what you were referring to, and that revelation comes in a later episode (if I'm wrong, please let me know) and spoiler tags have been added to your comment.

Oh, great. Now I’m in the mood for a lobster roll.

Heh!  I could go for some clam chowder.

Loved Green Hornet!

I knew another show was named that I watched too-- just remembered it was The Milton Berle Show.

A slip up in the writing or delivery-- Liz says that Mrs. Johnson told her that Bill was home at 10:30 "last night," but that should've been the night before last.  But I guess you needed a scorecard in these early eps to keep track of the passing days.

What I'd like to know is if Mr. Wells has access to the hotel safe, because I would not trust him to be around anything that needs to remain a secret.  [ghost_smiley]

OMG, the phone booth is back in the lobby.

Roger says that Malloy works for him, which is odd since we never saw Roger doing anything important while Bill managed pretty much everything.

And Roger told Burke that the crystal ball was "possibly one of the most inappropriate things you could have selected for an oversensitive, over-imaginative child. You must have gone to a great deal of trouble to pick out something in such poor taste."  The sarcasm aside, I have to agree.  Though Burke did seem sincere about thinking it would be a fun gift, what an awful choice for a disturbed child that is preoccupied with death and ghosts.  Yet Roger whisked the pen out of Carolyn's hands because it was an expensive gift from Burke but didn't confiscate David's inappropriate present.
That said, I always wanted a crystal ball, lol.

Even Matthew is on a first-name basis with the Sheriff.

Burke:  I don't forget anything, ever."
Except his lines.  [ghost_wink]

Somebody walked past the dartboard during the closing credits.  Maybe it was Frid carrying hangers?  Just kidding.

Matthew appears to be lacking any kind of a motive.

In #16, Matthew said that he would harm anyone that started trouble for Liz, which would be a motive if he believed Bill's actions were going to hurt her.

I want Liz's houndstooth shawl.

David to Vicki (about Liz):  "If anybody tried to hurt her, I'd kill them."
Another suspect?

Vicki's dress was too long, David's pants were too short (or maybe it was the white socks?), but Joe's tight pants and chest-hugging sweater were just right.  [ghost_happy]

I seem to recall that
in an earlier episode David killed something he loved.
Oh gosh, what am I forgetting?

Quote
David does inform Vickie that he will attend her funeral.

He said he wouldn't go to it, which somehow seems worse.
