When you watch it in HD via Quicktime, the lines are opening. She's cracking or something.

Phil, I watched the HD 2 minute spot again in 1920X1080 (high res courtesy of MB) and all I'm seeing on Angelique's face is the appearance of bulging lines with no opening up.

KLS is really annoyed over the piece and sent a letter to the editor.  She posts extensively on her feelings regarding the article on her FB page.

KLS states that the cameo appearances of the four DS actors are an indication that the producers of the new movie "are not in the least distancing themselves from the series," but since this has been a trend of remakes for quite some time, I'm not seeing it as proof of anything.  But what the article actually said was that the producers weren't encouraging anyone to seek out the original series, which is not the same thing.  And why bring up that she was on the set at the same time as the author?  Doesn't that make her come across as a bit miffed that he did not mention her?

But I do applaud her comment about how Burton's product would look with only 40-year-old production values to work with.

But there have been posts that have been deleted from here that made me say "huh?" So, ... might we need to be more tolerant of differing opinions here?

David, a differing opinion has never been a reason to remove posts.  Since you're wondering, a fairly recent topic was removed at the request of Big Finish-- you didn't say where you got the info, but their rep called it "a complete fabrication"; a topic was removed some time ago for containing an unsubstantiated and potentially damaging rumor about a DS actor (you began it by saying "I've heard whispers over the years about"; and the rest were, we felt, only tenuously related to DS if at all.

the Angelique/Barnabas/serpentine tongue licking sequence got a big laugh from Ellen's studio audience.

The same thing happened in the movie theater this weekend-- that tongue scene got the only laughs, and I'm talking huge laughter and not nervous laughs... and I just don't get it.  Whether the clip offends your DS sensibilities or not (I like it, cuz even though the serpentine tongue is standard fare for exorcisms on film and just about any demon in Buffy fan fic, attributing one to Angelique IS new, unless Nicky did it and I've forgotten, lol), why are audiences finding that spot funny?!
