A few 1970s appearances of DS alumni coming soon:

Tomorrow (Tuesday), the El Rey Network will air the classic 2-hour pilot of The Incredible Hulk series with Lara Parker [uncredited] as Mrs. Banner #1; also Susan Sullivan in a major role.  It airs 10 a.m. to noon for both Eastern & Pacific times.  Sooo many DS actors worked on that show at one time or another.

Also tomorrow, the Hallmark MOVIE channel will be airing "The Kirkoff Case" episode of The Rockford Files with Roger Davis and Abe Vigoda at 11 a.m. ET & PT.

This coming Saturday, also on the The El Rey Network is Jim Storm's episode of The Planet of the Apes.  "Tomorrow's Tide" airs at 7 a.m. ET & PT.

The June 3-4 binge on DECADES will be seasons 3 & 4 of The Rookies TV series, which starred Kate Jackson:  http://decades.com/binge/

Hmm, the only other DS alum that I noticed from those seasons is Gail Strickland in the 9 pm (ET) episode on Sunday.  I expected to see more of them, lol.

The Royal Caribbean Line’s ship Serenade of the Seas departs Boston and makes Canadian outbound port stops at Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Saint John, New Brunswick. The return trip to Boston has port stops in both Portland and Bar Harbor, Maine.

DSF at Sea: New England/Canada Oct 1-8, 2017  RT BOS (via Boston):
 
The cruise departs Boston at 4:30pm on Sun. 10-1 and stops in Halifax Tues. 10-3. The ship continues to Saint John on Thur. 10-5. Next is Portland on Fri 10-6 and Bar Harbor on Sat. 10-7. The ship returns to Boston at 7:00am on Sun. 10-8.
 
DS never established a specific Maine coastline location for Collinsport. The cruise route – sailing during the distinctive natural “Autumn Colors Viewing” period along the coastline – will present many “possible” settings for Widow’s Hill, Collinwood, and other DS landmarks.

Malia explains: “I started working directly with Jonathan in early 1999. We talked and he reviewed drafts all the way up to publication in 2001.” They thoroughly discussed, examined, and reviewed his personal memories, photographs, publicity materials, and more across his life and career. The resulting book examined DS and his other work in TV, film, theater, and especially his own creative, live-onstage one-man Readers Theatre presentations.
 
Jonathan performed these wonderfully unique, themed programs across the US and parts of Canada, from the mid-1980s to early 2000s. Each distinctive program created specific characters, settings, themes, emotions, and moods. He used only the written words and his own talents, experiences, perceptions, background, voice ranges, and body language. Alone on stage with just the program text on a stand in front of him, he explored history, humanity and life through literary excerpts ranging from the Bible through classic and current literature as well as his own insightful observations. SHADOWGRAM is asked by Friends of the 91 DS to report: “The Cast Reunion III event will be at Berkeley College, 3 E. 43rd St., NYC, NY. It will be Sat., May 20 from 11am to 4pm.
 
“There will only be 100 seats to this private intimate DS gathering. We will be holding 30 seats for ShadowGram members. They can go to the website: http://www.fo91dscastreunions.weebly.com/ to print out a registration form to mail in payments. They also can use PayPal by signing into their account and sending payment to: fo91ds@yahoo.com. 
 
“The charge is $35.00 for the event. All proceeds will go to Lockwood Mathews Mansion in Norwalk, CT. ShadowGram members must mark ShadowGram on registration form or put in memo area for PayPal payments, to reserve their seats.

**** DAVID SELBY IN HIGHLY-ANTICIPATED NEW MARVEL FOX-TV SERIES –PREMIERES Wed., 2-8-17 at 8:00pm
 
DAVID (Quentin) tells ShadowGram he portrays “Brubaker” in the new TV series LEGION. Based on the Marvel Comics X-MEN Universe saga “Legion,” it’s about “a psychiatric patient who is starting to realize that he might possess special powers.” This unusual young man “may be more than human.”
 
LEGION premieres this Wed., Feb 8, at 10:00pm on Fox. (Please check your local listings). It was highly promoted during the Super Bowl game 2-5.
 
David: He’s “one of the doctors/scientists dealing with” a young man with “surprising” unusual, unique abilities.” Working at a mental hospital called Clockworks, Brubaker is part of a group studying various resident patients and “trying to figure out how to direct this (young man’s) powers for their own ends.”
 
He continues: “LEGION was wonderful. Our show runner-creator-producers, directors, cast and crew all gave total effort to create something that will be special. Doing it was a delight. I am very proud of it and of the care that was taken with it. The production quality is fabulous.” David’s wife Chip adds: “LEGION is getting some of the best reviews ever.  One review said it was the best TV show ever, etc.  Everyone loves it.”

His character “Brubaker” dies in Episode 3, but David specifically asks SG to “please get the word out. I would love to continue with it. The character could come back. You never know.” SG joins David and Chip in encouraging fans “if they enjoy it, to let FX (Fox) know they like Brubaker. People are always brought back to life on these series, and (actor) Noah Holly is being asked to consider another 8 episodes for next year.”[/spoiler]

David’s wife Chip tells SG he “recently “recorded another CD that he totally narrates for The Big Finish, titled ‘Old Acquaintance.’
 
Chip also shares about an “independent film he did several scenes in was in the Sundance Film Festival - NEWBIES. It stars Nick Hoult from ‘Equals,’ and is directed by Drake Doremus, who directed ‘Equals.’  SG previously reported that DAVID starred in 2016‘s futuristic science fiction movie EQUALS, which was filmed in Japan and elsewhere.
 
David’s writing projects continue as well. He’s done numerous books: poetry collections, personal reflections and commentary, plays, and more. He reports “all is well. I just finished another novel that is going to the publisher.”

**** DARK SHADOWS FANDOM MOURNS 2 FAN LOSSES
 
---- SHADOWGRAM sadly shares word that ROBERT FINOCCHIO passed away Feb. 4 after a recent illness.  He celebrated his 65th birthday in January while in the hospital. Robert was very involved with DS and its fandom from the beginning: He was President of Diana Millay’s Fan Club during the show’s original run and knew many of the DS personnel from those early days. Over the years he was very involved in our early DS publications, conventions, and projects. Robert always was warm, kind, generous, and considerate. Many of us and I will miss – yet remember – his heartfelt caring, eloquent expressions of good wishes, encouragements, and greetings.
 
---- SHADOWGRAM also shares word of long time fan LEYLA HARDING’s death on Feb. 2. While on a Caribbean cruise with 8 DS friends, she became ill on board ship from complications from a long standing health condition and passed away several days later.  Leyla enjoyed the Festivals, trips to Newport, years of friendships and experiences - all thanks to DS.

Hallmark's Home & Family hosted an All My Children reunion today in honor of the week's guest host--Susan Lucci.  Following a tribute to Agnes Nixon, they ran a touching in memoriam segment.  I can't find the latter online (the Nixon tribute is on their website), so here are pics of the DS cast members that were remembered; the video left the entire AMC cast (and me ) in tears.  The episode will repeat tomorrow at noon Pacific Time.  The tribute and memorial will be the final segments just before 2 p.m. PST.

Monsterpalooza 2017 April 7 - 9 at the Pasadena Convention Center

Barbara Steele is expected to attend Friday, April 7 & Saturday, April 8.
