The 1977 episode "Kojak's Days Part I" featuring Virginia Vestoff is scheduled to air on COZI TV on 3/24 (next Saturday) at 3 PM ET/6 PM Pac.  It's a great opportunity to see her in a contemporary role and showing off her beautiful natural hair that even David Selby has publicly commented about.  Vestoff is a hooker-with-a-heart-of-gold and displays wonderful chemistry with Telly Savalas.  Maud Adams, who previously starred opposite Selby in The Girl in Blue, has a small role as Kojak's girlfriend.

Vestoff also appears in "Kojak's Days Part 2", which is set to air the following Saturday (3/31-- the day before Easter) at 2 PM ET/5 PM Pac.  [In some Southern California areas, Spectrum shows infomercials in COZI's 2 PM slot, so I'll miss out on seeing Part 2.  [easter_sad]]

Calendar Events / Announcements '18 / Marley Shelton in new series
« on: March 16, 2018, 05:30:51 PM »
"Rise" premiered this week on NBC and I was surprised to see Marley Shelton playing the wife of a (really annoying, to me) Pennsylvania HS English teacher [Josh Radnor] who sets out to revamp the school's Drama Dept.  The series will air Tuesday nights in the "This Is Us" spot.

SHADOWGRAM – DARK SHADOWS NEWS ONLINE UPDATE # 404
JANUARY 21, 2018

Hello, Dark Shadows Fan,

ShadowGram (SG), The Official Newsletter & News Source for DARK SHADOWS (DS), provides the following confirmed information

****MARIE WALLACE IN NEW OFF-BROADWAY PLAY IN NYC – JAN. 24-FEB. 4

SHAODWGRAM thanks and congratulates MARIE (Eve, Jenny, Megan) for her latest acting news, and encourages many fans to attend and enjoy her performance.

MARIE shares: “Right now I'm involved in a charming Off-Broadway play produced by American Renaissance Theatre Co.(ARTC) and titled ‘New York Encounter’ by Fran Handman, which is part of an overall production of short plays, poetry, and song.

“The entire production is called ‘Look Me In The Eyes.’ It is at the Director's Studio in NYC (Manhattan) the last week of January and first week of February. Performances are Wed. 1/24 through Sun. evenings at 7:30pm, and matinees on Sat, 1/27 and 2/3 at 2pm, plus Sun. 1/28 at 3pm and Sun. 2/4 at 2pm.”

Theater Publicity: WinterWorks2018: LOOK ME IN THE EYES: “An engaging observation of couples and coupling taking place at the intimate Directors Studio…. Whether it be old love, new love, borrowed love or blue love, ‘Look Me in the Eyes’ offers a distinctive variety of couples. In an informal ‘up close and personal’ setting, 9 actors, 6 playwrights, and a poet explore the ways in which we stay together – or don't. Their portrayals range from longtime married partners to others on the brink of commitment, from cherished companions to strangers meeting in a park, from couples united by their fears to those whose insecurities make it difficult to trust. All material was developed in the Workshop at ARTC, a professional, intergenerational company of talented newcomers working alongside veterans of stage, screen, and television.”

Director’s Studio of the Directors Company, 311 43rd St., NYC. 800-836-3006. The location is near Rockefeller Center and Radio City Music Hall.

TICKETS by Phone: Brown Paper Tickets: 1-800-838-3006

Fans attending performances are asked to please share with SHADOWGRAM their reports, photos, program books, publicity materials, media reviews, etc. Please send all materials to Marcy Robin at the ShadowGram postal- or e- mail addresses included in this Update. Thank you in advance.

***** DAVID SELBY – RECENT ACTING PROJECTS

DAVID (Quentin) and his wife Chip provide news about his 2017 and upcoming 2018 projects:
“David’s work schedule took him to Washington DC for a Gala at Ford’s Theatre; to (his home state) West Virginia for a poignant film, BACK FORK; to the Boston area to shoot a nice scene in an episode of the new Stephen King TV series CASTLE ROCK; and back to Los Angeles late in 2017 for another scene in the 2nd season of the Marvel FX series LEGION.” 2018 will be full also, with his writing and more acting projects.”

He and Chip spent time last year in Florence, Italy, and Paris, “as well as our annual visits with friends and family in West Virginia and Virginia.”

CASTLE ROCK is a new original series from Hulu, due in 2018. Hulu description: “The world of Stephen King is coming to television in CASTLE ROCK, a new original series.

---- “CASTLE ROCK, a psychological-horror series set in the Stephen King multiverse, combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King’s best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland. The fictional Maine town of Castle Rock has figured prominently in King’s literary career: Cujo, The Dark Half, IT and Needful Things, as well as novella The Body… Numerous short stories such as Rita Hayworth and The Shawshank Redemption are either set there or contain references to Castle Rock. (This series) is an original suspense/thriller — a first-of-its-kind re-imagining that explores the themes and worlds uniting the entire King canon, while brushing up against some of his most iconic and beloved stories.”
---- BACK FORK Description: “A timely and relevant independent film deals with the opioid crisis in Appalachia. Based on real experiences, it was partly funded by public support in a Kickstarter campaign. Director/star Josh Stewart: “The story I’m telling is fiction. I’ve made it all up. But these universal truths are real. This struggle is real. Addiction is very real and what’s happening with prescription opioids is truly an epidemic. I was born and raised in West Virginia. I know this land, I know the people, and I know their stories. They are my home. I see this picture so clearly because I’ve lived with the truths in this film for years. Some of them my whole life.”

Josh explains on video: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1159798350/back-fork/updates

Publicity: “BACK FORK is the story of everyman Waylon, struggling to hold his life and family together after a heartbreaking tragedy. He and his wife Nida barely recognize themselves, let alone each other. Their inability to continue on and heal leaves them hopeless. With the growing burden of the unanswered questions of why, and a heavy dose of self-blame, it’s only a matter of time before Waylon turns to the magic of the pills to make the problems disappear. He finds a kindred spirit in his sister, Raylene, as he sleepwalks through life with addiction. It's only a matter of time until Waylon finds himself at a crossroads. He learns that he's been asking the wrong question all along. The question isn't "Why?" It's: "Where do I go from here?" He's then able to see that we’re all wounded animals. Sometimes we die, but sometimes we live.”

Please share with SHADOWGRAM any media coverage you find about CASTLE ROCK and/or BACK FORK. (SG/Marcy Robin contact Addresses are within this Update.)

***** KATHRYN LEIGH SCOTT: MAGAZINE ARTICLES, NEW BOOKS. ACTING ROLES

KATHRYN (Maggie, Josette, Kitty, Rachel) asks SHADOWGRAM to share her news.

She is pictured on the cover of, and has an article in, ARTHRITIS TODAY Magazine (February 2018). She also has an article in the December 2017 CLOSER Magazine.
Kathryn: “Both articles reference DS, with a photo of David, Lara, and me in Closer. I'm fully back to acting and writing and really enjoying both. My trilogy of books (Now With You, Now Without, Happy Hours and A Welcome Respite) were published by Grand Harbor and are available on Amazon in print, ebook and audio. I also completed filming ‘The Eleventh Green,’ a feature film in which I play Mamie Eisenhower.”

And wasn't there a very recent mention here of the DS Files books?  Anyway, Files author Ed Gross is also on the list of entertainment guests.
