Roger Davis VO. Purple and yellow Collinwood... we used to joke that it was Easter at Collinwood then. Trask's back, and Nora. Nora to Quentin: "You don't fold your socks right." I liked that. His portrait's gone. That changes things just a little. This leads to Q sending Nora off to town during a storm with a delay message to Amanda at Julia's place. Trask gets letter, confronts Amanda, her plot comes out. Greg's voice starts breaking as she lets him have it, and he tries to defend himself with vague righteousnesses. His life lie is being threatened.
His last line that he pulls out is the old "I am your only friend." He tries to drive a wedge between his tormented pets, and the world that might protect them from him, isolating them and making them feel weak and hopeless, until at last, they actually come to him as their best option, by process of elimination. Then he gets the sick, dependent relationship he wants. My father was like this. It's a pretty sophisticated psychological process to write about on a supernatural show kids were running home to see, compressed into one "simple" line: "I am your only friend."
Lots of zoom-ins and zoom-outs in this episode, some pretty long ones. Last two seconds, a train guy with a bushy moustache is introduced, just to say All Aboard and something else...
