Strange to think these events will happen "again", differently, because of time travel, "later". Also, when these scenes play out again, Ben will say many of the exact same things that Joshua said the "first time around". *** I have a problem with how this whole storyline is winding up, and it's Barnabas going willingly to his destruction. Maybe his mother's death could do that, but it's not apparent that that's why. I'd pictured his being dragged forcibly to the coffin or something, and chained up screaming, unrepentant because he's not human by that point. Then that leads to 1967 Barnabas.
The barmaid is overcome with a need to lie down after looking at a bat for ten seconds, so Barnabas can have an unseen, uncomplicated conversation with Forbes. I like Nathan's being stunned that Barnabas isn't human. But what did he think was happening, I wonder.
We hear the third and fourth utterances of the word "vampire", by Joshua and Forbes, respectively. Melodramatic NO!!! from Barnabas, instead of just stepping out of the doorway and not being shot.
