Since the Fest encouraging peope to go visit New York on August 14th.  We from this bord should coordinate a get together. doing a Dark Shadows  Manhattan walking tour Going to the all Studio locations where DS was taped during is run and maybe also the location of Dan's Curtis's Office.

Current Talk '09 I / Bands on Dark Shadows

Soaps nowadays like to get rock bands or performers to do guest appearances. It they were doing this back in the late 60's and Early 70's what bands or performers do you think would have fit in on Dark Shadows?

I sugest for example the Zombies or the Grateful Dead. Who else can you think of?

Humbert Allen Astredo was inerviewed Craig Hamrick a few mounths before Criaig's death.  IM not sure if Craig ever got the chace to add meterial from the interview to his web site before he died.

The Hampton inn Newark Airport (where I parked to take my photos) Next Door to Renaissance Newark Airport is only $79 a night. and May be less with discounts. It also has free parking would be a very good option for alot of you who want to save money.

I was able to park in the Hamton inn lot next door seems to be free but proably not practal for festival parking. The lot may fill up quickly the  may be cheeing to make sure you are a gust that day.

I took pictures of the Renaissance Newark Airport Hotel today. I posted a link in
2009 DS Festival Hotel Preview -- Renaissance Newark Airport Hotel  thread

I made sure to take pictures of the Liberty Grille Menu a Hamburger is $13 ouch! Thiere is a Burger King, Dunkin' Donuts a Subway and a Perkins within a miile to the south, but on the other side of the highway. There is trafic light near the Hotel and I think you will be able to cross (alot to cross over).

Since I am not that far away I have been thinking about driving down to the Renaissance Newark Airport and scout out the area around the Hotel. I han take photos if anyone wants to ge a lay of the land.
