Great finale. I'm hoping for a new cast and story next season. Why muck this up with a sequel?

while the "Mina" storyline appears to have reached it's conclusion the episode left viewers with enough "cliffhangers" that one has to assume that the series will pick up where it left off with the same cast of characters...

perhaps new "supporting" characters and a new set of subplots but the main cast I believe is being held firmly in place.

I ALWAYS watch episode one in honor of the day...

last night I was too tired after I got home from work. have to watch it this weekend.

this installment just left me shell shocked...

I'm scared to go to bed. [8371]

i'll bet Hall had some old fashioned saucy "specialty" like "Chicken Marengo".

looks like Green is positively going to chew the scenery to shreds.  [ghost_shocked]

I keep hearing chatter that the ethan character is...

a.) a werewolf or...

b.) jack the ripper.

I'm viewing it somewhat casually and know little about the "lore" of either option so I'm not sure what "clues" people are picking up on on this point. was there an early episode where he "lost time" or something to that effect?

after originally thinking this was just something of a style-over-substance pastiche of Victorian horror melodrama the overall "narrative" is starting to become somewhat clarified for me.

I can assure you my interests are not prurient. the last thing on god's green earth I'm interested in in Jonathan Frid's sex life...

my interest was what it would have been when anybody picks up a biography. an intimate look at it's subject. and until this week it had been my mistaken impression the book was to be a biography.

I see that it is not. and will approach it as I now understand it.

thanks for the clarification and good luck with the launch.

the final shot of a smirking "Miss" Hoffman was the best.

no thoughts on last week's Eva-intensive installation???

unlike the previous week's grousing many fans are calling it a "masterwork" and the high point of the series thus far.

I thought it was well done and beautifully shot. Green was excellent as always. it did provide some much needed background for the character's connection to the Murray family.

the exact nature of this book is sort of mystifying to me...

an effective biography isn't just professional anecdotes and spin. it reveals the individual on an intimate level to the reader.

as Frid's "private life" was and continues to be shrouded in secrecy I'm curious to see how that plays out in this publication.

522
any reports on last night's episode?

I haven't seen it yet.

523
back on topic...

I wonder if season two will be a "continuation" of season one or if the series will be more like 'American Horror Story'. a loosely connected "anthology" type of show using the same actors but with different plots and characters each season?

524
that's good news. although a lot of the haters are vowing "never to watch it again" after the gay kiss...

the tempo of this conversation reminds me of the hysterics that often come up when it's suggested that a *certain* DS actor 'might' have been gay. I have to say there is a disturbing and virulent undercurrent of homophobia that runs through the "comic con" crowd. you'd think that perhaps being something of a group of "outsiders" themselves they might have a greater openness to difference in this area but they largely do not. there's almost an "adolescent" repulsion and defensiveness around "the subject".

I was offended by a lot of the remarks at first but then I rethought this whole thing. a lot of these deluded weirdos are in need of a bit of a reality check.

525
needless to say over on the show's FB page the homophobes are in full-fledged meltdown mode over this development. I thought people in "goth" culture were supposed to be permissive about this "sort" of thing.

and really. in a show with unrelenting murder and gore this is what gets panties in a bunch??? whatever.
