f.y.i,i contacted mpi and they did tell me that the pre-barnabas eps. would be released on dvd when they finish releasing the rest of the run.i highly recomend them, some stories are a bit dull, but the laura collins story rocks!

i have often heard tids and bits about some serious dislike going on between a.moltke and r.davis and that he might even have been partially responsible for her leaving the show(besides being pregnant).does anyone have the skinny on this rumor?the only actor i think alex had any real chemistry with was mitch ryan, from ep.1 i saw it and there was a scene early in the run when he kisses her in his room.it was very tender,it's a shame ryan left before him and vicki really hooked up.

i have what is perhaps a naive question.i have never seen "angel",but it seems to be mentioned in connection with the potential new d.s. show alot.why?what was it about and how does that affect a new version of d.s.?

thank you mysterious benefactor!that was really neat!i did too notice a few ommisions, like the evan's cottage, but  it was quite detailed.as for collinwood itself it seemed like that for a house that was "mostly closed off",there was a limitless no. of bedrooms for endlessly visiting guests.also, mrs.johnson's room would not have been in the family wing in a house like collinwood, but in seperate staff quarters behind the kitchen or on the top floor.was it ever established where joe haskell lived? and did anyone notice that tony peterson's apt. was burke devlin's rooms at the inn refurnished!the curtains are the same and so is the number on the door "24".

« on: May 04, 2004, 12:41:58 AM »
zombies in the pilot?it seems to me as if they are trying to cram alot of stuff(and characters)into a one hour pilot.i'm also hoping the new show avoids some of the nonsense of late.o.s.(like zombies)i'd rather it focus on a few characters viewers can identify with and care about(like o.s. first 2-3 years),not a bunch of disposable monsters.

why wait?subtlety and suspense perhaps.why put all your eggs in one basket?what made o.s. so engaging was the gradually unfolding storylines.to have victoria's arrival at collinwood and a character who appeared over a year later in a flashback be introduced in a 1 hour pilot seems confusing.

Current Talk '04 I / angelique,overated?
« on: May 02, 2004, 03:46:13 AM »
i know i'm going to get into trouble for this, but of all the characters on d.s.,angelique is the one i haven't ever taken to.does anyone else feel she was overused/overcredited on the show.the new d.s. plans to introduce her in the pilot ep.,which is strange because in o.s. she wasn't introduced until over a year into the run.

i'm very embarased to admit this, but during the actual performance of "return to collinwood" at the 2003 fest,i was with a few other fans in the bar at the brooklyn marriot getting very drunk,i missed the whole thing!

Current Talk '04 I / Re:Why Was The Original DS Cancelled?
« on: May 02, 2004, 03:20:02 AM »
about  j.frid being the only d.s. actor to only play one part.alexandra moltke was victoria in all time periods.diana millay was always laura.and wasn't david selby always some version of quentin?i'm not sure on that one. ???

i've also heard that towards the end of it's run, viewers began to get confused by all the parallell time business and began to tune out.it got too confusing and repetitive.if the new show lasts, i hope they avoid some of the later nonsense of o.s.

???i've said this before on another thread, but even though i don't watch the wb,it doesn't seem to me that they have so many "hits" that they can't find room on thier schedule for more than two new shows.especially when a show like d.s. already has a loyal fanbase and signifigant name recognition.

i never watch the wb, but it doesn't seem like they have alot of big "hits".i think if the show is good and they stick with it it could be very successful for them.i believe the pilot has completed filming.has anyone heard anything good/bad?

« on: April 25, 2004, 07:08:14 PM »
my heart belongs to victoria winters.but i also really like dr.hoffman and those green suits, early liz stoddard and formal evening wear for sitting around the house, early maggie at the diner and mitch ryan's burke.i also loved diana millay as laura collins, her 1966 story is one of my favorites and i feel she was underused on the show.i like barnabas too but it kind of irks me he's given all the credit for an ensemble show where everyone gave such great performances.

Current Talk '04 I / Re:The Mysterious Victoria Winters: Betsy Durkin
« on: April 25, 2004, 12:50:33 AM »
hi! this is my first post to the forum.i am nowhere near the betsy durkin eps. in watching d.s. on video(i'm in 1795 starting from ep.1), but i can't imagine anyone other than a.moltke playing her.she's so pretty and her vague danish accent is so distinctive.plus i doubt there's ever been another human being with hair as lustrous as ms. moltke's!
