before i read the robservations i'm going to make a blind stab at the identity of the "old lady"...she looks like clarice b.it's strange/fun to be "behind" most of you in d.s..for me it's still mid-1968. ::)

the spoiler box...i feel so dirty ::).without "spoiling" anything i think it's weird that when above said event takes place carolyn and vicki "forget" it,willie remembers who's who and what's what and maggie's memory of "it" is barely supressed.does that make any sense?

what's up with carolyn after
dr. lang "cures" barnabas of the vampire curse?after serving him for months and regularly serving him her blood,
she stands before a mirror and breathily "wonders" why she always wears scarves to (a duly stunned) julia.in a fetching eggplant felted-wool 3/4 sleeve brass-butttoned short dress(that worked perfectly with her icy-blonde hair) carolyn hastily abandons the stiff,zombie-like attitude she adopted for the previous story and resumes the girlish,fibbergibbet-disposition of her earlier persona by the simple removal of a chiffon scarf...thus,the entire incident is forgotten entirely. ::)

i could be totally wrong but i think that the fuller-brush man sold carpet-cleaning equipment and other household cleaning supplies.am i imagining that? when i was a kid in the 70's i vaguely remember my mom saying that the fuller-brush man was coming over.
b.t.w...my grandmother fern(alive and well-dressed)in florida at 87(house undamaged by recent huricanes) delivered singing telegrams in her youth but in later years sold a line of costume jewelry called "act 2".she had parties at her house along the lines of old avon or tupperware parties. :P

i'd be curious to see the pilot as well for that same reason...when it was in production i couldn't see how they could possibly introduce viewers to victoria, barnabas, julia and angelique(whom were all introduced months apart in gradually unfolding storylines on o.s.)in a 50 minute pilot that would make any sense or have any suspence.

whoever the avon lady was she always noticed that when she visited mr.collins at the old house he cleaned her out on under-eye concealer(those dark circle!),blush-on(so pale!) and avon's "jasmine" scented perfume. :P

what if it was mrs.johnson herself who sold avon door-to-door in collinsport? imagine if elizabeth hadn't offered her the housekeeping position after mr. malloy died.well,a girl's got to make a living right? she might have had to hoof it to make ends meet.she's got the tenacity and work ethic to have made avon work for her.i think she would have done very well. :-*

« on: September 08, 2004, 01:21:14 AM »
i'm now watching the adam story and it popped into my head that i haven't seen the blue whale in awhile, since before the 1795 story i believe.does the blue whale reappear in later eps. or does it go the way of the collinsport diner(which i can't recall seeing after maggie gets abducted)?
