Current Talk '05 I / Re: Storylines & Ideas We Never Saw?...
« on: February 17, 2005, 05:31:15 AM »
I've been wondering about storylines, ideas, and plotlines the DS writers & Dan Curtis planned which never made it into the series.

There's Seaview. That's the house Vicki falls in love with and Burke tries to buy. They were clearly going toward a haunted house thing with that one. Not sure why that got dropped like the proverbial hot potato.
i would have liked to see more of "seaview" as well.it had interesting possibilities.but that unresolved plotline occured shortly before the 1795 arc and i think that they decided to go after bigger fish.
and let's not forget that after 1795 nearly EVERY SINGLE PLOT that occured before it was dropped like that proverbial hot potato. ::)

milk-loving maggie's lactose intolerance finally pushes her over the edge. :P

quite to the contrary luciaphil...i could spend hours reading your description of maggie's diner chores and the price of a cup of coffee in the mid-sixties.your column is very addictive.

in another column you touched on the point that they didn't know how to dress alexandra moltke.i know what you mean.the producers must have found themselves in quite a quandry.she was an extremely beautiful girl but the character she played was a demure, modestly paid governess.so high fashion was out(although she was outfitted with a rather elaborate hairdo).the sweater and skirt combinations she wears in these early episodes were suitably school-marmish(but dowdy).later on someone must have decided that it was a sleeveless a-line dress that really said "governess" ::).

vicki(to herself):"just remember what they told us at the foundling home...nice girls don't go to second base."

voiceover: "my name is victoria winters...in a long locked room in the basement of collinwood we find a group of characters whom, although they are at this moment unaware, are about to find themselves severely marginalized by a supposedly temporary character over in the concurrent storyline." :P

i would have posted this in advance if i had known but last night i stumbled across a very late showing of "the son of monte cristo" starring joan bennett.it was a swashbuckler where joan played some sort of princess.

it was made in 1940 so joan was quite young and i have to say that she was spectacularly beautiful laden with period costume, wigs and pounds of jewelry.
as always happens when i see ms.bennett in something else(no matter how old she is)as soon as she opens her mouth all i hear is "liz". :P

Testing. 1, 2, 3... / Re: The 120 second Rule
« on: February 11, 2005, 02:06:58 AM »
wow...so let me understand this.there is a mod at the board 24/7/365?does everyone live in different time zones or are some of you "night owls"?are there only the three main mods(midnite, dom, mysterious) or do other members assume moderating duties?sometimes when i see who's online it says so&so plus 4 hidden.i assumed the hidden members were the mods.
and what does the 120 second rule mean it terms of spamming?if someone posts, and it's determined to be spam, can that person post again 120 seconds later or can the mod who just read the post block thier next post?
