odd...

the premise doesn't really lend itself to the extended run of a television series. the story is very self contained and finite.

a mini series maybe. but I don't really see how it can become a series that runs from season to season? it has a very definitive climax implied in the title.

I wonder what the current "status" of the film is outside the fandom (where we know how it ranks)?

how is it viewed in the overall Burton oeuvre? among Depp fans? DVD sales and online streaming? does it have it's own self-contained fanbase outside the general DS universe? seems like the sort of trippy thing college kids would get stoned and watch 200 times.

you don't hear much about it. it exists in some sort of void.   [snow_huh]

interesting...

except for bella heathcote and gulliver mcgrath, who've I've never seen in anything else before or since, I actually don't associate any of the 2012 players with the movie anymore.

it was a minor blip in most of their careers.

what a dumb, crappy synopsis. is the reviewer familiar with the OS???

Green gave a phenomenal, tour de force performance this season...

but Vanessa was a bit victimized and disempowered too. after awhile it grew exhausting.

did anyone else notice in season one the character had a name..."Caliban"...but in season two he just became "the creature"?

it was very odd.  [santa_huh]

those are fabulous.

it's definitely "our" Carolyn. and you're correct about Sharon Tate. the images of her and of Lee Grant are basically "stills" from VOTD.

gorgeous.

as a costuming aficionado I noticed they changed Vanessa's "look" slightly this season to reflect her deteriorating emotional state...

in season one she looked like a proper Victorian lady with high collars, tightly wound hair and lots of jet. this season she was often quite unkempt. her look while out on the Moors was complete dishabille and "in town" she was dressed but always slightly undone.

Dorian's ball was really the only episode during the season when she was well put together.

true...

put as I recall it was plot driven. it was just a setup for Mrs. Rumson to put a "love curse" on Maggie and Quentin that didn't really go anywhere.

the assorted and sundry KLS "Josette clones" only seemed to attract Barnabas in the alternate/past time periods...

in "the present" and after the initial abduction Maggie Evans was as useless to him as yesterday's trash. he was never really interested in some towny waitress on her own merits.

he was always pining away for Vicki and later Roxanne who, interestingly, bore absolutely no resemblance to Josette.

I have no patience for "spoiler" crybabies. to have an expectation that no one else on earth is allowed to discuss something because you yourself have not seen it is astonishingly entitled.

the administrator of one of the main 'Downton Abbey' pages has a pithy approach. because it airs in the UK before anywhere else (it being a British show about the British ) whenever a disgruntled American starts carrying on about "spoilers" on the page he (or she) reminds them "this is a British page for a British show. if you do not want spoilers please leave the page"...

zwing!
