speaking of the scene where barnabas' breath makes vicki wince...

since that is the only glimpse we've really had of the two of them, and most of the promotional material has focused on his relationship (if that's what one can accurately call it) with angelique, it's hard to get a read on what that relationship is going to be like.

i mean on his end, well, she looks like josette. which is traditionally enough to send him into a tizzy. but in previous tellings barnabas looked more or less "normal" most of the time. here not so much. so on her end what's the attraction? is it reciprocal? or is it more along the lines of the OS where vicki saw barnabas as a "kindly gentleman friend" and nothing else.

strange how this particular part of the story has been downplayed in the advertising.

i'm slightly saddened that lee is not playing bill malloy.

it would have been a nice nod to the series' early days.

and he's been listed on various sites as malloy for at least six months. strange that now all of a sudden someone corrects that.

as an ordinary person i would not ask or expect someone to remember in detail things that happened to them 45 years ago. god knows i'm lucky if i remember what happened yesterday...

but when one's primary business is published memoirs and recollections i think that they do have a certain obligation to get the information correct. simple research and a glimpse at widely available material could easily eliminate most lapses in memory before something went to press.

at the book signing her latest "recollection" was another supposed incident with david ford a la the infamous teleprompter story...

in this tale she and ford were having some sort of heated exchange at the evans cottage when apparently sheets of aluminum flashing came crashing down on them from the ceiling. as it went without missing a beat ford shouted "call the roofers!" and that's how it went on air.

i suppose this could have happened during rehearsals but i can't recall such an incident on the series itself.

and she keep getting confused about the timing of her casting as josette. lately she's been pronouncing that the role was created as the vampire's doomed love. but of course she had already been playing josette's ghost long before anyone had ever even heard about barnabas collins.

in an interesting bit of "breaking news" on this event...

it was just announced on the FB page that there will be a live video chat with none other than KLS via skype.

nothing earth shattering...she will be discussing her role on the OS and needless to say she will be promoting the new book. still it certainly takes the tone of this little affair up a few notches. the skype happens at 10pm sharp.

in general KLS is joining FB DS pages left and right. she's really giving the book a heavy promotion.

the picture of bella in 'vanity fair' is darling. nice to see her get a plug in terms of DS even though the piece does not get into detail on the film other than she's in it. i don't know who miss heathcote's publicist/agent are but they're certainly not promoting her much here.

gothic in terms of the "waitress" thing if i'm recalling in all the hazy rumors that have ebbed and flowed in regards to the film it seems there was a mention somewhere of the traditional arrival-by-train setup for vicki.

and there is still the mystery of the "young victoria" casting(alexia osborne)so i'm guessing the orphan situation is still an element of the character.

the costume component sounds fun...

my "ingenue" days are over so vicki's out.

perhaps mrs. johnson? they'd just better pray that the mayonnaise is FRESH or i'll let 'em have it!
