remember in those earliest of spoilers...
it said that unlike in previous variations of the story where vicki is summoned to collinwood and knows nothing of the collins family here she goes to work for them intentionally.
this would sort of imply that that's true.

over on youtube full clips from the film are turning up about 1 or 2 minutes long.

the "he's a vampire!" scene with julia and liz is up. and the more of the "ball" scene, barnabas and vicki on the terrace(we hear her voice for the first time)and the boardroom scene with angelique.

they're not too spoilerish but help flesh out certain situations.

1083
btw...

christopher lee is looking very bill-malloy-ish in the featurette. i wonder who the heck it is if not malloy?

1084
who the heck appointed people the "fan police" anyways????

anyone who doesn't tow some sort of party line has their "fan status" called into question.

nonsense really.

1085
what's more...
what sort of tipped me off to this possibility is that vicki's little governess' cape looks sort of like a modified version of barnabas' inverness cape. i wondered it it was some sort of forshadowing or symbolism.
1086
incidentally...
if this spoiler about vicki turns out to be true it sort of ends up disproving what alot of us thought that the last spoiler about vicki was. if that makes sense.
context is everything.

1087
actually i've been privately speculating that that very thing happens. it's better than what some of the alternatives are.

i'm sort of still processing it. it does open up lots of doors and is in direct contrast to dan curtis' vision for the character. i don't really know what to think. again i'm surprised at how much spoilerish material is out there.

we'll see.

at this point i don't care that film is so heavily comedic. it looks like a blast.

1088
LOVE the featurette...

this sold me more on the whole things than anything thus far. i've been wondering why barnabas was dinging the silverware in the previous spots.

love it!

1089
i seem to recall reading an interview with miss moretz where she called barnabas "elizabethan". [ghost_wacko]

1090
but what's with this calling everything "victorian"?

barnabas is "victorian". collinwood is "victorian". i wasn't aware that the eighteenth century was the "victorian" period.

i've seen this erroneous description elsewhere too. it's like anything old-fashioned is "victorian". [ghost_rolleyes]

LOVE the framed character shots!

i've already posted them on my FB page.

the character descriptions are fascinating? are they "official"? the bit about laura drowning at sea is so interesting.

love it!

Why the negative attitude?  Are you sure you guys are fans?  If anything, I feel more stars will be added to the July event to help fill up the huge gap left by Jonathan's passing.  On the East Coast alone there's Marie Wallace, Donna Wandrey, Nancy Barrett, Sharon Smyth, Betsy Durkin, and Donna McKechnie.  Plus, there's even more stars out in California who have gone East before- who knows, maybe one or two will fly over just to pay tribute to Jonathan.

charles...

we're all just expressing opinions at this board. no one is "right". no one is "wrong". they're just opinions.

the event sounds like a dud to me so i'm not going. if you want to go, go. it doesn't matter to me.

what i will not participate in however is a third grade p*ssing contest about whether or not i'm a "fan". that nonsense is more suitable to the IMBD board.

don't ever pull that with me again. ever.

1093
he was the main draw.

and for various reasons the rest of the "gang" will not be in attendance.

with just 2 guests it feels like a flatliner.

it seems like the main action will be on the west coast this year.

Received the Festival mailing today. Sounds like a very, very scaled down event.

that was my thought when i received my mailing too. nonevent would be more like it.

unless one was very eager to meet ms.scott and ms.parker or see lyndhurst it's almost not worth it. personally i've had enough of scott hawking her wares lately.

frankly with the unfortunate passing of jonathan frid i'm surprised it hasn't been cancelled.

1095
yes it would be a shame if she ended up the p.j. soles of the new millennium and found herself twenty years from now signing autographs at some "horror convention" at a marriot in the middle of nowhere. [ghost_rolleyes]
