There once was a God called MB the moderator
Whose creativity and wit was a mood elevater
MB would accommodate as best when asked
Which could be a thankless task
With posts like "Mrs. Johnson could sure use a vibrator."

Happy Belated B-Day, MB! And thanks for all you do.

Best Always,

PS  Who in hell wears a bra under a nightgown???

That would be Grayson Hall, Acamedy Award-nominated actress AND spokeswoman for the Playtex cross-your-heart bra. "It lifts AND separates."

Someone tell us where to find THAT commercial classic and the one with Briscoe taking a shower using Palmolive soap (or was it Coast)?!

Damn shirt tail.  >:(

Damn clothes, period! Do all guys look that sexy after they've been poisoned?! At least Julia's halfway to paradise in her nightgown - maybe some Victoria's Secret (or Fredericks of Hollywood) lurks beneath her Ohrbachs layers...

JULIA: Oh, Vicki, I was just reading this book on the many pitfalls of pre-marital sex, and figured you and I should have some quality girl talk. Burke, would you excuse us?!

(1) What is your favorite Chris storyline or time period?
A: When Chris first comes to Collinsport and eventually befriends Barnabas & Julia, though I wish he was on longer in the 1970PT story. As Chris Collins, family lawyer, he might have been a contender while enjoying a full moon or two.

(2) What would you have wanted for Chris if the character had stayed until the end, or what do you see what the writers could have done.
A: Have him cured of his curse, but not before he attacked someone and made THEM a werewolf - and then he'd have to take on Barnabas & Julia's role as protector (of his victim). Women's lib was happening then: how about a female werewolf on DS?

(3) Who would Chris ultimately end up with if it was your choice?
A: Gothick, Jean-Claude, Heather, Jennifer, Connie, me... oh, you mean who he'd end up with "on the show"?! I wished he'd dump Sabrina, have a fling with Julia, and settle down with Carolyn.

(4) How did Chris' parents die?
A: Hopefully quick and painlessly.

(5) Would the show have lasted or been better in it's final years had Chris been present?
A: Might not have lasted longer, but Briscoe was nice eye candy. Also, storylines like his were simply dropped with little explanation, so it got easier for some viewers to become detached from the show towards the end as the writers played loose with favorite characters.

My faves include:

Julia hauls off a deserved right hook to Cassandra's smug face. I'm viewing that one in slow motion next time.

Barnabas and Angelique squaring off as humans in 1968, with Angie having one last chance to beg Barnabas' forgiveness.

The exorcism of Collinwood. Great episode all around.

The one where Don Briscoe plays both Chris and Tom in a dream sequence, causing Joe to flip out, and prompting Dr. Hoffman to whip out her trusty hypodermic needle (Joe was beyond a sedative at that point).

And several others already mentioned, particularly the 1897 one where Judith reads Edith Collins' will to her brothers. A Joan Bennett classic.

CHRIS: Julia, I still don't understand how the rough and tumble time we just had in the back room was vital to my recovery from strychnine poisoning.

JULIA: It was vital to Barnabas, who likes to watch, and vital to me, who deserves a perk for my risk-taking efforts.

JULIA: Ahhh, Dewar's, breakfast of champions....

BARNABAS: (sighs) From Days of Wine and Roses to Mornings of Whiskey and Atropine!

AMY: You...you want me to start calling you "Aunt Julia"? What's going on here?

JULIA: I've given up on Barnabas, and moved in with Chris - he's younger, friskier, and his cottage has electricity and indoor plumbing!

If anyone trifles me about my DS addiction, I just whack them upside the head with my trusty Don Briscoe Mousepad.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ProfStokes-

If I don't make it to the DS Convention this year, I always take comfort in knowing you provide a splendid written recap of the weekend's events (which almost makes me feel as though I was there after all). Thank you for past and future efforts.

In honor of your special day, I think I'll watch the episode where Prof. Stokes performs an exorcism on Collinwood. He wasn't always effective, but Thayer David was always entertaining.

Best wishes,
Sandor

GRAYSON: Itching powder in my wig again!?! I'm gonna strangle David Henesy, that little prankster!!

404
JULIA: Have a puff, Mr. Collins. First one's free.

BARNABAS: I'd rather fight than switch.

405
SARAH: See Maggie, it's my new "Collinwood Barbie Doll." She comes with 3 sleeveless Ohrbach's dresses, a crypt, and a teleprompter. Wanna play?
