Let's hope that our Divine One is finally given her due for her contributions to this film!

Seducer.....!!!!

And in this episode, Barnabas and Julia play a competitive game of "Mother May I" with the children. Barn got to take 3 giant steps and 1 umbrella step, and has left Julia in the dust.

Do the covers of any of the DS comic books feature the actual actors? I'd buy one if the cover was unique - I dropped a few bucks on the first "Afternoon TV" magazine ('68) because it featured Jonathan Frid & Alexandra Moltke on its cover.

Current Talk '06 I / Re: Who else loves Parallel Time?
« on: January 19, 2006, 09:43:47 PM »
1970 PT had some great moments, and I concur with the posters who singled out the performances of Nancy Barrett, Grayson Hall, John Karlen, Lara Parker and Louis Edmonds. Interest waned when the main cast was off filming the Dark Shadows movie, but they all came back with a vengeance, and the payoff was sweet. Too bad that Clarice Blackburn was busy doing "The Secret Storm" during this storyline - would have loved to see a spicey/dicey Mrs. Johnson in the parallel world (as Angelique's sidekick perhaps, though Paula Laurence's Hannah Stokes was a hoot in her own right).

Have a great day, AmyJenningsFan-
To celebrate your birthday, I've been watching DS episodes that feature the tender brother-sister bond between Chris and Amy. Yes, they had their share of woes, but at least they had each other.

Best wishes,
Sandor

Polls Archive / Re: How many times have you watched the entire run of DS?
« on: January 18, 2006, 08:25:46 PM »
I've never seen the entire run - I'm a virgin to most of the pre-Barnabas episodes and the post-1970PT ones. Lost track of the show in its original run when Daphne and Gerard showed up. And most of the neighborhood kids stopped watching when Barnabas was off the canvas, and "Bramwell" was Frid's new character. The early Laura story looks interesting, but my favorite period of the show was mid-67 thru mid-70.

Don Briscoe gives new meaning to the expression "turning the other cheek."

JULIA: Yes, Vicki, had I not dedicated my life to medicine, I might have become a Broadway, movie, and television actress, working alongside the likes of Richard Burton, Ava Gardner, Walt Disney, Rod Serling, Telly Savalas....

VICKI: I don't understand....

CHRIS: You sure you're okay living here at Collinwood, honey?

AMY: Well, I am feeling a little queasy - it's either Quentin's obscene phone calls or Mrs. Johnson's garlic brioches.

I suppose if the mainstays like Elizabeth, Roger, Carolyn, Maggie, etc. were all privy to and accepting of Barnabas' vampire curse, as well as the other sundry scandals at Collinwood, the tension and suspense would have been compromised to a large degree. Secrets are a major element of a captivating serial. I was always rooting for Barnabas and Julia to save the day, cover their tracks, and keep the Collins gang in the dark (shadows) - kind of a "what they don't know won't spook them" protective bond - they were the dynamic duo, the childless couple who'd adopted this family, and spent more time protecting them from sordid truths than pursuing their own wants.

ALEXANDRA: I guess our show switching from black & white to color was just too much for Kathryn to handle.

ANTHONY GEORGE: Well, a few whiffs of my Hai-Karate cologne should bring her around...

CLARICE: You're really going to tell Sam and DC that this "Parisienne aunt" role bores you to tears, Grayson?

GRAYSON: Damn right - next time we do a time travel storyline, I want to play a character with more sass and spunk!

CHARITY/PANSY: I wanna be a gypsy! I wanna be a gypsy like you, Magda!!

MAGDA: Sorry, child, I do curses - not makeovers.
