Just a last reminder that everyone is invited tomorrow, its a free show. One or two panels have been reshuffled, and my talk on "The History of the Monster Boom" will be at 10:00 am. The Horror Hosts panel is at 1:00 pm.
        You know something funny, Diane and I were looking through my High School annual for 1976, and I totally forgot they had a skit at an assembly where a student played "the Bowman Body". I have to bring in the pictures to show him. It goes to show how much a part of our growing up years, the classic Horror hosts were. Likewise, I noticed that Gold Key comics never let a cancelation of a TV show stop the comic; Dark Shadows keep publishing until2/76, Twilight Zone until 4/79 (w/one issue in 1982), and Boris Karloff, which began as "Thriller" ran unril 2/1980, almost 12 years past his death.  [skull_winks]

Nancy has always been very nice and gracious. I'll never forget when she joined us for one of the old AOL Sunday night chats.

Here's a special October candle for your pumpkin cake.   [candle_in_skull]

Prof Stokes: This is my new animated Adam bank. You put a quarter or half dollar on top, he opens the lid, sits up and grabs it, then drops his pants.
Julia: It's very lifelike.  ::)

A little outside DS, but just down the street. Here's a link to some great '60s and '70s Halloween pics. So, return with us to those thrilling days of yesteryear: Collegeville and Ben Cooper apron tie costumes, candy corn, Aurora models and pink and green gum cards...

These were all good adversaries in their right. The tough part was do I vote for Nicholas who is Dark Shadows Snidely Whiplash or Gregory Trask? Or Count Petofi? Since Nicholas was charming and had a smooth style, I decided on Gregory as he was the most self centered and most hypocritical. Nicholas at least was open to Julia and Barnabas about his intentions, with a "dare you stop me!" style, and Humbert once described his character as "the James Bond of the Underworld". Petofi was very clever and while of great ego, he was a great foil, sort of the Lex Luthor of the 19th century. Gregory was deliciously insufferable and completely duplictious. And as stated, particulary reprehensible is one who preys upon children, and does so in the name of God. The great Dickensian villian of our show. Kudos to Jerry Lacey who did such a fine job defining and deliniating the differences and yet common threads of the Trasks.

I say Larry should have a gypsy panel, most especially with King Johnny, Magda and Juilanka. Anything to get Julianka more air time!  ;)

Calendar Events / Announcements '06 II / Edward Albert passes
« on: September 28, 2006, 07:33:12 PM »
Edward Albert, the son of Eddie Albert has passed away at the age of 55.  :'(  He worked with Roger Davis and Kate Jackson in the classic TV movie of the '70s, Killer Bees and also appeared with Kate on The Rookies and on Falcon Crest with David Selby. He has a pretty lenghty list of credits on the  imdb. Here's an obit...

Welcome to the  boards, Widows Wail. Our specialty here is lurking in the Dark Shadows. Don't mind Gerard Stiles over there,  that's his favorite activity.  ;)  Always feel free to add, ask a question or give an opinion.  ;D
