I need the cane. Arthritis, you know.

Either Dr. Lang’s harpoon collection
Or Quentin’s I-Ching wands

Carolyn, the teenage meddler. Why does she send Vicky off to see Matthew when she knows “he’s not very friendly”? Why Vicky has this need to know thing about Roger and Burke is beyond me. Why should she care? She should be upstairs hitting the books with David. That’s what she was hired for.

I think JB just messed up her line, said cream instead of ice.

Carolyn:  "It was all very proper, mother. I called him on the house phone and invited myself up."

Regardless of who initiated it, I can't imagine anything less proper than an older man entertaining a 17-year-old female in his hotel room for an hour or more.  But at least it will give Maggie something to gossip about.

Maggie??? What about the hotel innkeeper? What a blabbermouth he is!

I'd have to say though, that this was one of the most incredibly boring episodes I have ever seen. You got the hotel clerk drowning Sam with coffee, an extended shot of the telephone ringing, and the door upstairs in Collinwood mysteriously opening and closing. I guess we're supposed to surmise that it's Roger.

865
...show her something she'd never seen before.

Complete the phrase:

Burke: Miss Stoddard, this finger makes a handy, dandy drink mixer. It can also ______.

867
Complete the phrase:

Liz: For Heaven's sake, Roger, take it easy. You're guzzling that liquor as though it were ________!

Oh, I think Burke is dreamy. I don't care for his tactics and his grand plan to wreck the Collins empire, but a few romps in the hay wouldn't be bad.

I love Burke’s luxury suite. What a riot. What is that furniture, Early American Junkyard? This is all Collinsport has to offer???

Fill it:

BM: Sorry, Liz, this is as good as it gets. If you want something better, you ought to call _________.

But the lack of a switchboard operator gives us the opportunity for (at last!) something like a cliffhanger ending!
Carolyn boasts to Vicki that Burke wanted to "paddle" her last night--oh, those 1960s manners and morals!
It seems that in the whole wide world, Bill Malloy is the only living person besides Roger who calls Elizabeth by her first name. That is certainly a measure of her isolation. Clearly (to me anyway) Bill is in love with the boss.

Carolyn's behavior makes my head spin. It also makes me think back to the days when I was that age and behaved like an idiot.
If Bill loves Liz, I'm not seeing it at this time. Loyal to her, yes.
Cliffhanger operator? I don't dig.
