Wow, Michael Hadge.  I remember many years ago he was going to attend a Festival, but couldn't make it due to scheduling conflicts.

I do hope somebody plays the clip where he utters his immortal line, "if ya feel it... SIT IT!"  Grand stuff.

I'd love to see him. Might be worth the trip.

HB Janet, come back soon.

Thank you. I'm still around. I just ain't vocal.

I actually found how the character was handled/portrayed in the Burton/Depp production quite sad, particularly since there was never any explanation or backstory as to why she was even there.  I thought she looked so cute and hilarious in the stills, but then in the actual movie... she was barely there.

If you blink, you miss her scenes entirely.

Thriller was not mentioned. Maybe because it didn't start off as a horror show, but when the ratings were poor in the first season, lightening struck and they decided to make the stories horrified, particularly because of Boris Karloff's stature.

I know it's been said that House is too bloody bloody, but it was the times, and compared to the violence in movies and television of current times, it ain't so bad.

Briscoe pecks. Oh, yeah...

I like House of DS best. I have a hard time watching NODS, most likely because of all the missing footage. It never made much sense to me. I think House is John Karlen's movie all the way and I remember John was in attendance at my first fest watching the film. He seemed to be enjoying himself.
I like the Johnny Depp version because it makes me laugh.

Calendar Events / Announcements '13 I / TCM Essentials John Karlen

I made a suggestion on the TCM boards that John Karlen ought to be a guest speaker on Turner Classic Movies Essentials night. And why not? He is a huge fan of old movies, his fave star being Chester Morris.

Where the f**k is John Karlen???? Has Jim Pearson spirited him away somewhere? I know he moved. I don't have a number for him anymore. Where is he????

My parents have also pointed out to me that it is during Hurricane season. I have to think about it long and hard.

Your folks are correct. When I went on a cruise from Boston to Bermuda, we were followed by five hurricances. Didn't bother me. I love to be on the water, but plenty people got sick.

Is anybody booking? I wonder if they'll cancel if they don't have enough folks interrested?
