David Henesy's good.   I wonder if he was using disturbing experiences he'd had himself.   Good version of the Pheonix story Laura told David...

No doubt about it, but I find that I am missing his wickedness in these episodes.

T. Bat--  I think the disturbing things about the painting are supposed to be that (1) Sam painted it under remote control, and (2) that it portrays a woman (whom they knew) on fire, presumably being burned to death.   I don't think that being unconventional in his artwork had anything to do with it.

He's also under extreme duress to paint this thing. He doesn't want to and doesn't understand what's making him do it or why.

I have been to many a museum, seen all of the masters, yet I prefer my own style. And I've sold stuff. So if Sammy can eck out a living selling seascapes and whatnot, well, why not?

I have the complete set of Wild, Wild West. The box is rectangular, but it's fashioned to look sort of like a saddle. The DVDs are housed in stirrup shaped containers. Very cool.

Preposterous. You don’t hear that word much these days, do you?

Burke certainly gets around with the ladies, doesn’t he? He and Joe are the only guys who ever do any smooching in this storyline. Roger doesn’t have a love life, nor does Sam. I wonder if Sheriff Patterson has a sweetheat?

wouldn't role play Watson to his Sherlock Holmes...

Excellent!

I still marvel and cherish Robin's Robservations. She put a lot of effort into her own transcriptions. They have come in very handy on numerous occasions.

Nancy Barrett and hubby David Ford in the same episode. Wowee!

That couple must have had quite a few drinks to find a spinning wicker lantern so amusing.

I really feel bad for Sam. I do. Not only does he have Burke and Roger on his back, (not to mention Maggie’s constant nagging at him),but now he has this mysterious compulsion to paint a canvas he doesn’t want to paint, nor does he know the reason why he’s doing it. Of course, Roger’s no help. Sam should have realized that before he asked him to come to his house. But then, Sam is pretty desperate for any answer to his problem.

Roger bursts Burke’s bubble pretty well here, implying that he and Laura are going to reconcile. He’s one up until Carolyn tells Burke that Laura is staying in the cottage. Gotta love it.
And I love how Roger and Burke  stand on either side of Sam, who is sitting down, and they’re arguing and looking like they’re about to come to blows. Sam’s in a pretty precarious place there.

Definitely enjoyed Mitch Ryan’s performance today. He absolutely looked the part of the poor disillusioned sap.

Shot of a squad car with lights flashing outside Collinwood. Heh, heh…

Roger is unreasonably nasty to Frank here. What a snob.

Pop Garner does not strike me as a fool. He knows something’s up with Roger and that trial.

Sam is one tormented man. I’m surprised he didn’t blow his top when Maggie kept pushing him for answers. But at least he did tell her what was happening to him and admitted that he was terrified.

Amazon's prices often fluctuate all over the place - especially their pre-order prices - so the price is likely to change several more times before April 10th.

I'm missing some sets and hope that individual sets come way down. But you're right about Amazon. They're prices are all over the place.

Forgive my memory please Janet, but you don't have access to these episodes?

Collection 5 is my last up until the middle of the dream curse. I've just been busy.

Fill in the blank:

Frank and Vicky snickered when Roger asked them if they were going upstairs to _______ .

Sam actually has one of those curvy cliche paint palettes... oh that's what the hole's for, your thumb...

I have a disposable curvy cliche paint pallet. It's like a note pad. When you're finished painting, you tear off a sheet and throw it away. Cool, eh?

I do want to comment on this episode, but I haven't seen it yet.

Well, the Gulf Stream does pass right next to Maine, so maybe the climate was somewhat moderated. Or maybe they were having an El Niño year.

That's what's happening this year in New England.
