Every year around Christmas time Turner Classic Movies does a beautiful retrospect of actors and film people who have passed away. I bet Mr. Frid will be included in this year's ode.

As I am involved in the Current Watching Project here (intro to Barn just recently), I am enjoying Mr. Frid as Barnabas very much. In between that, during one of my Quentin fixes, Frid shines even more. I can't fathom how these people remembered all the dialogue they had, never mind personal appearances and what not.

Before electricity, people painted during the daylight hours, I think. But Sam has the prospect of a thousand dollars, so I guess he'll paint when his patron says to.

Dig Liz's coat. She looks like a bell.

Love Burke's line: Cousin Barnabas doesn't seem too bright. Heh.

The flat tire story never seemed plausible to me. Who meets a stranger on the road who changes a tire and then offers him a job?

Nobody can add two and two in this town. Barnabas is new in town. Attacks on girls and livestock start happening. I wouldn't have opened my door to Barnabas if I had been Maggie.

I see Sam is still wearing a ties with his burlap shirt.

The phone directory for Collinwood is surprisingly thick--unless all of Maine had a single phone book back then.

I noticed that too. No doubt someone grabbed a NYC directory for the scene.
