Nice job. They sure found a dead ringer for Dan Curtis, didn't they?  ;)

Boris Karloff's Thriller.  It lasted, I believe, only one season and was one of the creepiest, most atmospheric anthologies ever aired.  It would alternate with one episode dealing with suspense, the other with the supernatural.  The Sci-Fi Channel use to broadcast the show (reruns, of course) but has not done so for years.

Yes! Thriller! That show aired in reruns here on a little independent station many moons ago. Many, many, many moons ago. A few years back Universal was charitable enough to release a few episodes which I had the brains to scoop up at the time. My favorite Thriller epoisode is "The Premature Burial". Very spooky. Seems to me Dan Curtis must have seen this very episode as Liz turns out to have a tomb constructed with a bell and a buzzer, believing that she would be burried alive. Hmmm...
Alfred Hitchcocl Presents is another favorite of mine that turns up from time to time on TVLand or the Hallmark Channel.

For the moment the only way to include an image in a post is to upload the file to your own Web space and then use the YaBBC image tags like this:

Shades of Victoria Winters...I don't understand!

How do I post a jpeg? I have an amusing drawing of Quentin I would like to share, but I don't know how to do it.

How about the time that Barnabas came to check up on Willie at the hospital and he's standing in front of a Red Cross poster that says "Give Blood"? Har har har har!!!

Yeah. How about when Sam Evans, while in the Blue Whale, drink in hand, looks out the window and exclaims, "Look! A bat!!!"

« on: February 22, 2004, 11:46:41 AM »
I know this may be a weird thing to discuss, but I see the soaps now (dont watch any). Everytime I flip a channel and there is a soap, a male is shirtless or the female is in lingerie. I know Dark Shadows was a 60's show, but in the show's entire history did any of the main male/female characters ever expose skin?

Quentin showed quite a bit of chest one morning when he transformed from a werewolf to man again. From a short little brown-eyed wolfman to a long & lanky blue-eyed barechested hunk o man.

Current Talk '04 I / Re:Hey! was Jonathan Frid sexy?
« on: February 17, 2004, 10:44:47 PM »
Yes. Johnathan Frid was definately sexy as Barnabas. The eyes. The dark make-up around those intoxicating, mesmerizing eyes.
And he was smooth, telling lies. He would moisten his lips ever so slightly and then bat his eyes like crazy. Yup. He was one sexy vampire.

No kidding. This faux guy even has the same kind of folds in his neck that Frid had.

I bet you this guy is the funeral director who brought the caskets to the show. I mean look at him. He looks like James Whale for crying out loud! ;)

Most valubale to me personally is a 1968 cast photo, the one they are standing on the stairs in, signed by John Karlen, KLS, Nancy Barrett, Lara Parker, Jonathan Frid and Louis. (Bless his soul). I wouldn't part with it for anything, although I'd keep missing Robert Rodan at shows and wish i could get him to sign it as well.

Excellent! I did a drawing of the Blue Whale and had a bunch of the stars autograph it.

I never thought that Anthony George conveyed the embittered Burke who spent 10 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit.

I agree. I just finished watching the episodes where Burke is investigationg Barnabas and I wondered how Mitch Ryan would have been in this storyline, particularly the scene where he apologizes to Barnabas for his behavior. Would have been interesting.

My most valuable items are probably the drawings of DS characters I've done and had the stars autograph.
