Current Talk '05 I / Quentin's Portrait
« on: January 06, 2005, 12:08:21 AM »
I have a question about Quentin's portrait. He kept it hidden away in his bedroom closet. Was it easily accessible to anyone who opened the door to the closet or was it hidden behind clothes or a secret panel? I imagine he would want to hide it as best he could.

Quote
Lots of emoting and scene chewing between Sam and Maggie. Sam's solution is to skip town. Maggie doesn't like this idea much. Probably because she realizes that if he leaves the next time she hears about him will be from some out-of-town city cop who found him in a cardboard box or something. I rather like Scott's characterization of Maggie in these episodes. She plays her as an intelligent, desperate girl and it all works. Maggie, incidentally, knows damn well that Roger is mixed up with her father. She doesn't know why, but she's got that part down.

This is the Maggie that I like too. I think what happens to her brash personality later on is...Joe Haskell.
Love your episode summaries, Luciaphil. Keep 'em coming! [santa_thumb]

Hadda put a vote in for 1995 looney [santa_cheesy] Quentin. Had to. I don't remember too much about those episodes except that Quentin had been incarcerated at Stormcrest Sanitarium - which totally cracked me up at the time. Stormcrest. [santa_grin] Looked to me like Selby had a good time with that part too.

Favorite Quentin of all is 1897 Q. He is wicked. Ruthless. A total cad. My kind of guy.

« on: December 11, 2004, 09:30:24 AM »
One of my favorite characters that Grayson played was Hoffman from 1970 PT. She did a real nice job with the role. (Shades of Judith Anderson's Mrs. Danvers from "Rebecca"?)

I also enjoyed Grayson as Magda. Although that wig looked like it was a real pain at times, GH seemed to have enjoyed herself in the part.

And of course Miss Hoffman. Who else could pull off lighting up a cigarette in the Old House right under Barnabas' big nose?

I think this was a major if not the contributing factor as to why I
couldn't get into this book. Not to mention the fact that she
contiously
jumps forward and back. You hit the nail on the head with your
summary, Maine Chick

The links don't work.  When I clicked on Essay #10 I got the Page not Found message and I then tried Essays 1 through 9 and they all took me back to the Home Page.

Josette, when you get to the essay page, simply scroll down.

Episode 693
Robin, would you please forward the picture pf Miss Hoffman to me? It's the one where she is beside Stokes and David. I'm working on a drawing of her and am having some trouble with her mouth. That particular photo would be a great help.
It's jhc312@aol.com

As for all the antibiotics, check with your doctor about eating yogurt.  The bad thing about antibiotics is that they kill all the bacteria in your body, even the good bacteria in your digestive tract.  Eating yogurt with active cultures helps to restore that good bacteria.  I think there are probably soy yogurts with active cultures, too, in case you prefer to avoid dairy products.

Well wishes to you, Connie.
And thanks for the heads up on the yogurt, Jean-Claude. I have had some sort of "Camille" virus for weeks and have been on anti-biotics. Coughed and coughed, lost my golden voice...it was bad.
Slurping down some yogurt and oranges now  :)
I should be back to my old self in no time.
Take care, Connie.

Yes, this is a marvelous film. I've seen it several times myself. "The Woman in the Window" is another of her pictures that is similar to to this one. Joan Bennett was a terrific actress. I believe the Arts & Entertainment channel runs both of these movies from time to time.
