I'm kicking myself now that I didn't keep the early episodes that I taped from Sci-Fi channel. This morning I read Robservations episode 85 - one of my favorite episodes. Burke and Sam dead drunk and singing in the Blue Whale.

Who here knows MB put much effort and thought into the montage pic/ep 80 with Roger on  the loneeeeely beach....searching for the pen?

Very cool pic...such atmosphere...such penmanship! [hall2_grin]

I am enjoying ALL the montages that MB posts. There was one particular one of Roger scowling that I would love to frame.
Keep 'em coming, kid!

Current Talk '05 II / Re: Font for 1991 Dark Shadows logo?
« on: September 29, 2005, 11:36:36 AM »
Does anyone know what the FONT used for the 1991 series logo/lettering is?  I've found a few that sort of look like it like OLDENG.TTF which is quite close, but none of them are "the one".

I don't know if there is a specific font for the logo. When I was recording episodes onto VHS tapes from Sci-Fi, I scanned the logo from a DS calendar and sized it to fit the VHS label.

My fave is the one where Barnabas tells Willie that the difference between him and Miss Winters is a gap as wide as the sky. Barn goes on to talk about growing old and ugly and how nothing can touch you when you're immortal and Willie replies"Nothing except lonliness."

Then there's the scene where Sam Evans is in the Blue Whale. A girl is frantic because she saw a bat outside. Sam comments that there are bats all over the place (or something to that effect). As he's leaving he points to the window and cries, "Look! A bat!!"

"What do you mean?" is another line that frequently pops up.

Like my new avatar and signature? At some other forums, I won someone in a "staff auction" so I had him put this set together for me. Anyone like it?  ;D

What is an avatar?

Current Talk '05 II / Re: Interest In New Dark Shadows
« on: September 11, 2005, 11:40:57 PM »
Supernatural soap operas aren't big at this time. When Port Charles ripped off Dark Shadows, it didn't last too long and the ratings were poor. Passions cut back on their supernatural stories since the last time I watched the show and I believe it was because of ratings. It doesn't look like soap opera form would work for DS again.

I agree with what you're saying here, but I saw the trailer to the new DS and thought it was spectacular. As a prime time programmer, it may have worked. I was impressed with the actors, the art direction, and the storyline. My take.
