"So, Lieutenant Forbes - you admit it!! You frequently sneak off to the still under construction Collinwood when you know it will be empty to secretly gratify your disgusting desires to sneak off to the still!!!"

It was really Willie's lucky day when Julia happened on the scene and stuck around permanently because then he had a doctor around 24/7 to tend to his every wound.  [wink2]  (Well, except for whenever she disappeared for a few months here and there into other times. Though in those instances one would hope Willie would have sense enough to behave.  :D)

Willie's lucky day? Dr. Hoffman beleaguered, belittled, and badgered that boy.
Fix me a laboratory, Willie. Stake this vampire for us, Willie. Dig this grave, find us a body, dream this curse, but don't tell. You will take the blame for stalking Maggie Evans, and stay at Wyndecliff, for you are quite mad. You can't have happiness with Roxanne, because you must carry out our plans.
Did I leave anything out? Wait. Didn't she light up a cigarette while Wille was in an oxygen tent?

Current Talk '07 II / Re: Plot of Depp's Dark Shadows Movie
« on: September 21, 2007, 02:33:22 AM »
I am not familiar with today's actors, so I wouldn't know whom to select in any particular role.

I think Josette should be included in the movie, since she is the main catalyst behind Barnabas' desire to live.
I would like to see Dr. Hoffman's character, all the Collinses, Mrs. Johnson and Vicky too. So basically, we're talking a remake of HODS.

It's hard to squeeze all the years of DS into one picture. What I dislike about HODS is that they tried to do that very thing. They tried to fit every character and the vampire story into one film. I mean, you get Barnabas and Willie and Maggie and Dr. Hoffman - but they tried to squeeze too many actors into one picture. At least, that's my take on it. It's entirely too confusing. So, hopefully, the remake will take al these things into consideration, and the writers will come up with a feasable plot. Barnabas/Willie/Josette/Dr. Hoffman/Cure/Drunken Collinses/The Old House burns down - the end.

Awesome! Wicked! Thank you so much for sharing your photos, Sunny!

Would it be possible to get a copy or allow me to download the Johnny Depp as Barnabas painting?

Whoever did the Depp painting or photo shop or whatever it is, did a marvelous job. I would love to have a copy.

I have some more photos Cheryl took over that weekend that I will be uploading here as soon as I get them to the right size!

Well, you obviously haven't gotten the other photos to the right size yet. I'm waiting.

Did ya'll swipe a brick from The Old House? I have one...

The early episodes are my favorite. I love the location shots - Sam Evans walking the streets of Newport... Miss Vicky on Cliff Walk, Matthew Morgan trimming the hedges...
It doesn't get any better than that.
It seems such a shame that when Quentin came along in the storyline, they didn't do any location shooting. I imagine that Quentin got around quite a bit in Collinsport. Not Tarrytown, even though he was on the east coast, by the way. Hmph!

Been on ships before,  if done in the fall  we would need to stay away from the  hurricanes. . Depending on how big the ship is you can feel them move with the sea.

Gotta mention this. When my spouse and I ventured on the cruise ship from Boston to Bermuda - I think it was 1995 - there were five hurricanes following us. We watched the weather report every morning. I recall watching from my room the ship's stabbilizing wings come out. I loved every minute of it. We had a competant crew, plenty of good food, and a bartender. If we were going down, we were going down in style, let me tell you.
All in all, it was a grand time. Had lunch and breakfasts with George Takai, snorkeling...just a lot of fun. I reccomend this type trip to anyone.

Yeah. Well, we won't go there. EW!

And if you want to know where Dan Curtis got his ideas for DS, watch the old classics. Any old classics. "Rebecca" comes to mind, "The Uninvited", and any Universal horror picture ever made - with the exception of "The Creature from the Black Lagoon". I don't see any tie ins there...

My goodness, where in the world did you come across this? I'm going to print it out and keep it with my DS memorabilia. Thank you for sharing, Sheenasma. Thanks!

I'll drink to that.
I went on a Star Trek cruise years ago. It was one of the best times of my life. Not only did the actors do thier stints on stage every day, we got to dine with them, snorkle with them, dance with them, and work out with them. It was a lot of fun.
