Shot of Quentin turning into a wolf. Not only do his eyes change color, but his height - from a lanky six-foot-five changes to a short and stubby five-foot-four beastie. Now I ask you, how sci-fi can you get?

We have the hunk o' junk plastic version. But it plays the melody fine and soothes our troubled minds, reminding us of better days when vampires roamed the Earth.

The Leviathan storyline started out really fascinating but then went nosediving!!  They ( the writers) never really finished the Maggie/ Barn romance that started and what about the ring he gave her that was supposedly Josette's ring?  That went to no man's land.  I always hated that the didn't finish  that story line. How could they have made it better?  Finish storylines!

I think the Leviathon story had to be the worst thing they came up with, notwithstanding the dream curse. EW! And the Adam storyline thing. My, God, man!
I used to tape the shows from Sci-Fi on a daily basis and watch it when I got home from work. It wasn't long before I discontinued taping and went on to other things. I never knew what happened with Barn and Vicky running away. I shuddered when that half-wit doctor shone the sunlight to Barnabas, who was dressed in normal pajamas - for a vampire - come on! I cringed when David hit puberty. Give me the old black and whites, the old days of Jason blackmailing Elizabeth, and Willie covering up his boss's secret.

Well, we're talking years before the pharmacuticals took over the world, aren't we? [ghost_cheesy]

Old Man Karlen doesn't have TCM either. I have been taping movies for him for years. You know what are his faves? The Thin Man series. He doesn't like war movies or horror movies. He likes murder mysteries. Charlie Chan, Sherlock Holmes. His absolute favorites, above all, are Laurel and Hardy. Ha! Bet you didn't know that, did you?

I think I remember seeing that drawiing -- did it appear in an old WODS by any chance?  I KNOW I've seen it somewhere! Would have loved to be a fly on the wall watching you get that signed.

I can post it here if the lovely moderator will allow. Better to forward it to Midnight and then she can post it. I'm not at all technical.

Funny how Buzz disappears just after the Liz/Jason wedding.

Would Barnabas have interfered? Would the new cousin have tried to help Liz rid Colinwoodwood of Buzz?

On my hellacious ride home from work tonight, I labored on the idea of what would happen if the writers decided to pair Barnabas and Buzz. Would staltworthy Cousin Barnabas have interferred in Carolyn's sex life? Barnabas took interest when Roger told him of the goings-on betwix Liz & Jason. Buzz seems to disappear there. Now I'm not saying that Carolyn didn't dump her suitors at the drop of a hat, but does anyone here think that Barnabas would have kilt Buzz to help out?

By the last time we saw her, though, she honestly seemed to have turned over a new leaf.  So perhaps there was no need.

Honestly. How many times has Angelique turned over a new leaf?

Current Talk '08 II / Re: New Big Finish Dramas

I've listened to a few.  They are a bit limited in scope, IMHO because they've limited their characters to a few "old regulars", i.e. Willie, Barnabas, Quentin, Angelique and Maggie with just a couple of add-ons.  Individually, I think they all are doing fine acting jobs, although methinks the weaknesses of the original DS show up rather a lot.  For example, one has to wonder when Barnabas is ever going to feed?  And the character of Quentin kinda screams to give him something to do, otherwise he's just flirting with women and sucking down brandy.

I agree completely. I think the acting is wonderful, particularly John Karlen. He sounds as though Willie has never aged, and John really puts his heart and soul into these dramas. Selby, on the other hand, sounds as though he left his teeth by the bedside. I think the stories are weak and the actor that portrays Barnabas reminds me of that old LP that Famous Monsters put out in the 60's - Famous Monsters Speak, if you know what I'm saying, and those of you who are my age do, thank you very much.
