You know these magazine surveys are BS to me. They are looking to sell their mags and coming up with the most outlandish crap and are aimed at an audience that will buy their magazine. Who is to say what the best cult show was? Who knows? My favorite show is Mister Ed. But that's my opinion. These surveys attempt to convince the greater public that this is it - It's a done deal, no matter who thinks what. Bah! Current events. I'm not up on my current events. Cult shows? Yeah, Dark Shadows is definitely a cult show. Let me clarify this. (atta boy, Luther!) Cult = following.
I just watch what I like. I nearly fell to the floor last weekend when my favorite episode of Jack Benny came on. I don't give a hoot what Entertaiment Weekly has to say about Jack, because I know he isn't in their best interest. But he's in mine and I enjoy him. And vaudville is still alive. Too bad there aren't any magazines to cellebrate that.
2 Thumbs down to EW.

My absolute favorite scene is between Barnabas & Willie.  Barnabas is going on about how awesome it is to be immortal, young forever; untouched by age, untouched by anything.

Willie says, Except maybe loneliness. And as he says it, his eyes are darting back and forth, as if he’s expecting Barnabas to smack him one for saying it. But Barn just goes out the door, stops and thinks about it.  This is Barnabas and Willie at their very best.

Holy sinister, Batman! Wherever did you find Suspense? I want it NOW!

My goodness! What a time you had with Old Man Karlen! To think what a shabby time I had with him, compared to yours!
I am fortunate to have spent time with Pop at Sleepy Hollow and at some dive diner where JK called me a Hilbilly just because I put ketchup on my eggs. Mercy me, how fortunate you are to have the old man take a liken to you, if this is so.
I have had the great opportunity to speak with John on several occassions; he was often interested in what Niki and I were cooking on the weekend. Niki had a plaque made for John regarding his service in the Korean War. The plaque is sitting in Aiken SC and John is very proud of it. I still hear from John from time to time. Niki adored him, as he did her. The last time we saw JK, we went for a walk with him through Brooklyn. My angel is passed now. I take geat pride that John knew that Niki was his greatest fan.

Apparently there are an awful lot of insomniatic DS fans online because overnight at 3:10:47am ET (12:10:47am PT) the forum's Most Online stat reached a new high of 125 people doing some sort of something on the forum!

Maybe so. I am currently working a night job, much to my chagrin, but a job's a job.  Pays the rent. Whatever the cae, the best posts happen at nightfall.

Hey, can anyone tell me how Old Man Selby s doing?  Had three dreams about Quentin Collins this week.

I have an extremely hard time imagining that the absence of Seaview will have any measurable impact on the boxoffice performance of the new Dark Shadows. The number of fans of the original series is miniscule in comparison to the millions of people who are the potential audience of the new movie. Out of the movie's audience, the portion of the original series' fan base that would be upset at seeing a "new" Collinwood is practically infinitesimal.

Agreed. I think most people who will go to see this picture will be fans of vampires, horror movies, Johnny Depp, and Tim Burton. My sister, for example, watched DS when she was a kid, but hasn't seen it since. When I told her Depp was planning to play Barnabas, she exclaimed, "Oh, my god!!" Whether or not they use Seaview is of no importance to her. No doubt Tim Burton will come up with some far out sets for this film.

Oh, please do! Like to see Willie in one of them.

A few pages back I mentioned a disc of Fest footage being sold on eBay.

Well, I have been waiting for this. I hope you don't get into any copyright issues posting these films. I am watching them now, first chance, before you are carted off to jail...

Anticipation. I am always on edge awaiting your Fest reports, ProfStokes, because they are so detailed. I can't believe you don't take notes, but you are young and have many brain cells, unlike myself, who turned 50 this year with the Twilight Zone.
Thank you again for your in-depth reports, Sweetie. Much appreciated. Very much.
Did you sing this year?

I'm sorry to have to say that this has to be the worst of the radio dramas. 15 tracks of drama and they seem to be all the same. I listened to it twice to see if I had missed anything. It's like every track repeats the one before.

Willie is in or out of Windcliffe, I cannot tell which, and has rememberances of kidnapping Maggie. Angelique is there, I know not why, other than to continually request that Willie tell her why Miss Hoffman was trying to cure Barnabas.

There is no finality in this story. I love listening to John speak in his native Brooklyn tongue, the cover art is exceptional, but the story itself stinks. I know several writers on this board that could have done so much better.

It would have been made even better if the fat guy had not been in the shot in the background at one point, but that not-withstanding, the best scene of the show.

The fat guy... LOL!!! Wicked!
