Two things I know that will not keep you awake - Liquor and sitting by a roaring fire.

Awesome performance by Selby in this episode.

Oh! I must get a job as a bar wench at the House of Frivolities. Quentin!

Yeah, I don't buy Angelique's reasoning for her so-called love for Quentin either. What happened to her undying love for Barnabas?

Lara Parker was good in this episode too. But. The line, "I'm too human. Too jealous." Yeah, the jealousy thing is certain, but the "too human" part just ain't right. A too human person does not perform witchcraft to aquire love.

It amazes me that most of the women on DS are still quite beautiful. I often thought that they ought to do a "Project Runway" type thing at the Fests where they come out on stage shaking their booties to the tune of "I'm Your Venus".

Wondering if Luciaphil has ever done any Idle Thoughts on the episodes where Willie has released Barnabas. I am currently enjoying her hilarious annotations about Dr. Lang’s medical skills posted in 2002.

Perhaps had Trask turned on the Victrola, he would have been soothed. NOT! Heh, heh, heh...

I agree with Lydia. Fresh mortor. I would have at least attempted to push my way out of there.

I have always wondered about Quentin's true feelings for Beth. This episode confirms my belief that he did, indeed, love her.

I don't recall what happens next, but I do think that Trask is leading Aristede on here. Ya think?

"Hide behind the drapes", Trask orders Aristede. Personally, I think I would know if someone were in my home, whether he was behind my drapes or not. But that's just me.

I so take Quentin's viewpoint of Trask. And I can't wait to see what Quentin thinks of his sister moving his stuff from his room.

Loudest set of chains I've ever heard.

Oh, and the close-ups of the actor's faces. My God, Jim! (That's my Dr. McCoy impersonation, BTW.)

Crime after crime... Wasn't that a Cyndi Lauper song? Oh, pardon me. That was Time after Time.

It's great how the characters bounce around Collinsport at this point, colliding and linking up in new combinations.

Indeed. And what is with this "moors" thing. Were there moors in Collinsport, or was Garth reflecting on the foreign soil on which he was originally chasing Aristede?

I wonder if Quentin was screaming in agony about the Astro-turf he was lying on or whatever they called fake grass in those days.

Beth on Widow’s Hill. Nice scenario of Maine’s rocky cliffs, but she isn’t looking straight down. Now here’s the thing. If I were trying to persuade someone that was afraid of me who was teetering on the edge of a cliff not to jump, I would move backward. But that’s just me.

I swear the two most sentences on this show are, “I don’t understand”, quickly followed by, “What do you mean?”

Trust me, Quentin. Booze will not bring back your loved one.

Beth is gone, in a most dismal way, but let us focus on the Portrait. It is very close to “The Pen” scenario. It reeks of Roger’s incapacity to care.

Aristede is a punk and a minion. Albeit, a well-dressed minion.
If he’s gone a whole week without food, how is he even able to stand?
The thing about the Aristede and Petofi relationship always challenged my mental prowess. What exactly was going on here? I can guess, but I don’t want to delve too deeply into it. EW!

All right. Charles Delaware Tate. Gad! I’m an artist. I paint. I make a mess at times. But never, in all my born days, have I worn a smock. And the smock that RD is wearing looks like a woman’s smock.
RD is ineffectual as an artist. Trust me.

Portrait, portrait, where is the portrait?

Barnabas is still wearing that breakaway frock coat. I am screaming for him to raise his arms to see if the seams hold.

Beth reports to Quentin that there are gypsies at Collinwood. Quentin/Petofi says he doesn’t want to be around gypsies, but then tells her he’ll see her at Collinwood. Huh?

Tim Shaw is Beth’s only hope? Egad!

Just what were they thinking when they styled Briscoe’s hair anyway? Yikes!
And what was Briscoe smoking before the cameras rolled? I want some.

That frock coat of Barnabas’ looks like one of those tear away suits.

Quentin is elated to discover he’s him again. Now he can go back to the House of Frivolities. Long & Lanky is back. I bet they’ve missed you, boy.

Beth! Noooooo! You can’t fall! You’re not a widow!!!

Excellent performance by Terry Crawford today.

Portrait, portrait, who has the portrait?

Playing Josette thing to death still.

Pansy says she can tell it’s Quentin inside Petofi’s body by seeing it in his eyes. How the heck can she through those dark glasses?

The extreme close up on Quentin’s face was a bit more than I wanted to see. Nice clean pores though.

Beth’s response to Pansy’s statement about Petofi taking over Quentin’s body is that Quentin has been doing some strange things lately. Excuse me, but when has Quentin not done strange things?

KLS going back and forth from Josette to Kitty was done quite nicely.

I must say that Jonathan Frid appears to be one helluva good kisser.

Go head.

Duh. Pardon. I am way old. I meant to post there. Honest.

Haven't seen these eps in quite some time, but since've recently aquired some DVDs, I thought I'd watch the tapes and post.
The first thing that came to mind in these eps was how much I would love to run my fingers through Selby's hair. Gadzooks, what hair!

The next thing that came to mind was the horrible dialogue betwix Barnabas and anybody. I realize Old Man Frid was consummed in fan adoration, but he goes overboard missing his lines here.
Quentin is always Quentin, with his eyebrow arched and once again, they are playing the Josette thing to death - which I hate.
Well, at least it's in Living Color.
