Not sure where to put this since it is off topic.  My mother passed away today from ALS.  She was diagnosed in late February 2012 and already in the late stages of Bulbar onset.  She had lost about 90 % of her ability to speak and swallow as well as most of her ability to walk in the past week.  She was ready to go and asked me yesterday to pray she passed soon.  My mother was the reason I became interested in Dark Shadows and I regret she never came to one of the fest with me.  During the time period Dark Shadows was on TV we talked about Barnabas Collins like he was a member of our family.  She loved hearing about the cast when I would return from a festival and what they were all up to.  It was a blessing she passed in peace surrounded by her four children and in her own bed. 

I received my receipt today in the mail! Now it feels official and I am very excited. It sounds like an intimate and low key event but at the same time a nice schedule of activities to keep your interest. If I read it correctly it sounds like the area near the stables will be tented.  There was a nice flyer inside regarding Jonathan's passing. 

Looking forward to seeing everyone and catching up on things!

I am excited about this especially since I will be in town and have nothing planned for Friday!

I think the event at the Vista will be a success because it's a bit more exciting then just going to a regular cinema to see the movie.  The atmosphere will be fun and hopefully everyone will get into the spirit of things and enjoy a fun evening.  It sounds like an awesome way to view the new movie and if I lived there I would be very excited and just have a blast.  What a great opportunity for Dark Shadows fans! Hope you all have fun~

I saw a flyer on Facebook for the LA event and was surprised Shadowgram hasn't done an update.  They flyer has a nice photo and lots of details about the event.  Hopefully, more details come soon about the event in the NYC area.
