Seeing that David Selby is 10 times better looking in person than on camera if that is possible. The man is perfect in every way. :-*
Hugging Jim Storm was very nice ;D
Roger Davis made everyone at the banquet table (Halloween party 2001) speak in English accents. Why I do not know. He was very nice to everyone and made of point of asking each person about themselves etc.
Seeing that everyone I met online is just as nice in person. :)
Thank goodness nothing embarrasing. Now my friend Renee will have to tell you what her son said to Jim Storm in an elevator at one of the Halloween parties. :-[

Current Talk '02 I / Re: Original vs Revival
« on: March 30, 2002, 03:54:25 AM »
Well for the original series I remember sitting all cozy with my Mom watching in awe. :o I liked the revival but it makes me think of sitting in my crappy apartment on the floor because I could not afford furniture. :'( Thank God for floor pillows :D

I just checked my yahoo mailbox 3/29/02 7:40 pm. Got my notification of removal. It must have come recently because I checked my account a couple hours ago and did not see it then.

Current Talk '02 I / Re: Ben said a dirty word

According to the SCIFIGUYS the first curse word uttered on tv was by Capt Kirk on a Star Trek episode "City on the Edge of Forever" It said it was a ground-breaking episode but did not say what year or what the word was but I cannot imagine it was anything more than "damn".
Sorry if someone else posted this before me but I did not get a chance to read through all the replies.
The site is kind of fun. Scifiguys.com

I would think they would be in style right now. Cannot imagine hard contacts. I can barely deal with my daily ones.

Sometimes things have to be believed to be seen! I believe for the most part. I also think there are so many scams out there it is hard to know what is real and what isn't.
ProfStokes, I would love to go ghost hunting with you someday. I prefer houses from the civil war era. Don't want to go hunting any axe murderes who may be hanging around some house.

I hope the post here aren't giving anyone a bad view of the festivals. I have only been to one official fest but inspite of a few ( and I do mean few) rude folks the rest of the time was a blast. I would recomend everyone try it once and you will be hooked.
Two people I regard as my closest buds I met because of DS. One just happened to sit next to my at the banquet and we became fast friends and talk almost daily.
This years trip to California is a splurge for me but I started saving a year ago and realize I won't be doing as much outside of the fest due to money but hey, the ocean is still free out there isn't it?? Please tell me it is all you Calif people.
I'll be passing up on the Disney side trip. Been there once and once was enough for me. Didn't they do a tour of the QE at a Calif fest once? That would have been cool.
I can understand frustration on the fest only being east or west coast. It is hard living in the middle of the country sometimes but I love getting out of the middle of the country too.
If anyone was planning on going and has doubts about it because of the negative things that could happen. The positive outweighs it ten times so go and have a great time.  :)

I agree that the registration and banquet tickets should be mailed out to those who pre-register if time permits. At least give the banquet ticket at the beginning of the weekend so there is no line the night of the dinner. This would give people more time to spend at the fest or more time to get ready for dinner.
I also agree with a code of conduct. I volunteered last year and one young lady ( I use lady loosely) called me a not so nice name that rhymes with witch because I would not let her cut in line. When she left she used the "F" word. I don't know how you control something like that.
As far as the autograph lines, I wouldn't know where to start there. I have heard some people waited 3 hours for an autograph and if you are an impatient person anyway it just makes matters worse for everyone.
I also think Las Vegas would be a terrific idea. I've never been there so just give me another reason besides putting myself in dept by gambling my hard earned money away and I am there!

Current Talk '02 I / Re: DS hookers
« on: March 17, 2002, 07:28:48 PM »
I started watching with my Mom so I think it was the vampire thing that got me hooked. I thought Caroline was so pretty with her sleek 60's blonde hair and I thought David was cute. As an adult I have to be honest and say I turned the tv on and saw David Selby and thought hmmm :-*

What a cutie! Congratulations Patti, what a cute little smile your boy has there :)

I'll be there for the fest and banquet. Looking forward to visiting Calif again. This will be my 4th trip out west.  Another reason I am looking forward to Calif. is I am going to meet the brother of a dear friend of mine. My friend found out about 2 years ago that he had a biological brother that was given up for adoption about 1year before he himself was born. Our families have known each other so long and I had no clue about this other child.
Now I just have to find a decent air fare. I prefer to fly direct without any stops but that is expensive from my area. I hate flying as it is so so the fewer times I have to take off and land the better. :)

Current Talk '02 I / Re: cough, cough
« on: March 03, 2002, 06:53:42 AM »
I realize this is kind of off topic but I have my own coughing fit story. I was on the phone at work with a patient and had to excuse myself during a coughing fit. I put the patient on hold and went out to the hallway to get some water. When I went back in I realized I had locked myself out of the office. Being that I was the only one in that day I had to run down to the lobby to get the guard to let me in. The patient was still waiting for me when I got back-no kidding like 10 min later. I apologized and explained but felt like a goof ball explaining what happened to the security guard. :-[
