If there is anyone who lives in the NYC  area and likes punk rock music, please send me a private message so I can tell you about a benefit concert at CBGB on Saturday July 15th. It is for a friend of mine George Tabb.
Thanks!
PS-Just got my receipt for the fest. I am sooo excited ;D

I personally like the banquet.  What will everyone wear this year?  What DS or DS related clips will they play? Too me, it's a nice opportunity to have all one dinner together.

I am a total dork. I already started clothes shopping. Since I bought my house I have done very little shopping for that kind of stuff so it was nice to have a reason to buy new stuff.

I agree with Bob, considering what other fests cost this fest is a bargan!

My friend went to a science fiction fest in Indianapolis and had to pay for a reserved seat. Which I guess was nice because you always got the same seat but the total fest cost her about $200.

I'll put my two cents in. No the dinner itself is not worth the $65 but the charity is. This will be my 7th and I do the banquet every year with my dear friend Renee. Every year I have met someone interesting at my table. A few years a cast member at my table  but I usually don't talk to much to them. I enjoy meeting someone new each year and usually Renee and I end up hysterical over something said or done.
My dinner over the years has gone from horrid to not quite so bad. The servers are rushed and dinner never starts on time. I am starving by the time the bread arrives so I load up on carbs.
My suggestion is while you are there to go to a nice restuarant and have one nice dinner because the banquet ain't going to be it. I made that mistake the first time.

Philosophy is know for their unique cosmetic names. A favorite of mine is "Hope in a jar" facial moisturizer. They have an awesome line of shower gels. I like the chocolate ice cream and you can also use them as shampoo's. Check them out on sephora.com.
I doubt you will find them in a local drug store ever but I know the Jessica Simpson line Dessert is in Walgreens and it is pretty fun stuff.

I was looking at the Sephora website today and saw that the cosmetic brand "philosophy" has an eye cream called Dark Shadows! I almost bought it for the name but it is kind of pricey. Isn't that a hoot!

I think it would be a good idea to have a cash bar open while people wait in line for registration.
Years ago, when I would sit out all night waiting for concert tickets to go on sale, a local radio station would bring coffee and pastries and give them out to people in line. People are happy when they are eating or drinking. Well, at least I am ;)
