That is brilliant! I certainly got the laugh I needed watching that. I think I'll watch it again in fact [happy7]

That's nice that they provide free entertainment on your train ride. Next time I'm taking the train and not renting a car. >:D
Which one of you is going to provide the next sorrid detail to this story?

That was a great review! It's nice to see so many new people at the fest each year. That shows how great the interest still is and hopefully will keep these things coming for as long as they can.
I did not see too much of the ladies this year but caught Betsy Durkin's Q&A. She is such a sweet lady. Very down to earth and appreciative. I think they should make sure she comes every year. I liked how she told people to stop by her table regardless if they could buy something or not. Just to say hello and meet her. Very nice.

ps- I want to live in Lyndhurst so bad!!! Imagine how cool that would be.

  >:D I confess I did once knock on a someone's door when I was about 18yrs old. Well not really knock I slid a note under the door. It was Peter Wolf from the J.Geils Band. His room was next to ours. So note went under the door and few minutes later he came out and I got a big hug ( all I wanted was for him to sign the note so I was very happy ;D). Anyway I would never do anything like that now. When your 18 you can get away from it. When you're in your 40's it seems kind of desperate ::)

I purchased the music cd for HODS and NODS and am just now looking through the little booklet inside. It has some interesting facts about where scenes were filmed and some that were deleted. One photo from HODS shows Maggie finding David hanging in her bedroom closet by rope (pretending to be dead) which was a deleted scene. Another piece of trivia I did not know was the HODS was  originally rated X in England due to the bloody vampire scenes. Is that amazing or what ::).  So I am off to listen to some music now.

I heard several people who said they had attempted to find his room, phone his room and etc etc.
It was quite an experience. I felt teary eyed when he came out. That kind of lump in your throat feeling.

Returned from the fest late yesterday. I was estatic to see Jonathan Frid for the first time .I thought he was in good spirits and seemed to enjoy himself. I was thrilled when he did the "Tell Tale Heart". I saw him several times in the hotel walking here and there but did not approach him. The weather and Lyndhurst could not have been better. Coming back home to 91 degrees was not something I looked forward to.
I must say that other than Jonathan Frid I was a bit disappointed this year. We arrived on Thursday and hung out in the lobby both Thursday and Friday and for the most part it was dead there. I remember years past everyone was around and you could visit for awhile. I really look forward to those visits in the lobby or bar. Saturday night was busy even though the lobby bar was not open for business. Last time it was open for food and drink but security told me they did not believe it would be busy enough to open this year.Thought that was strange. The ladies of Dark Shadows all looked great.
I skipped the banquet after seeing I was one of the last in the waiting line and went to Ruth Chris instead. My friend Renee and I gave out tickets to some vounteers who wanted to go. After hearing how crammed it was in there I was glad I did it. I knew we would be one of the last tables and just could not imagine Jonathan Frid could go table to table and personalize the photos. I decided I was happy with the unpersonalized one.
I only got to see a few of the members here and some I know their real names but not sure what their profile name is here. Anyway, everyone looks well. Amazing how we all seem to get younger every year isn't it ;D
Prof. Stokes I missed you!!!!!!! :(
Hope everyone made it home ok.

I was pleased they have dates for next year even thought I doubt I can attend. I have some summer travel plans in the works already so don't know if I can swing both. It shows thought that the event is still in full speed ahead and we should have a few more I beleive to look forward to.
Maybe a visit in Burbank from Johnny Depp would be appropriate? You think it could happen?? :o

There is a Friday's 3 miles from the hotel. I honestly don't remember all that much about the hotel but once I looked at the photos on the Marriott website it started to come back.
I do look forward to seeing friends and some I keep in regular contact through cards, phone calls and emails. Most are spread out across the US so I can't visit them each personally. It is just nice to see smiles and faces in person and hear about new jobs, homes, pets, life changes etc. It's what brings me back.  A few years back there was a woman named Anna from England who was always there. She was so kind to me and shared many interesting stories about her life. She has since past on but every fest I put the photo she gave me in my suitcase and bring her with me.

Renee from KC and I from Ohio are flying in Thursday mid day. Should be at  the hotel by dinner time depending on traffic and baggage etc.
Looking forward to seeing everyone! :D

I think it is downright freezing in those rooms sometimes. It's fun to dress up for the banquet but it seems there is always something big scheduled right before and then hords of people line up for the banquet ticket. Not too much time to waste.

Does anyone know if dogs are allowed on the grounds of Lyndhurst. Like a small puppy that might fit in a handbag perhaps??

Your mother sounds like she was a lovely woman. My sympathies to you and your family. It sounds like heaven truly has another angel.
