Happy Birthday to you! August seems to be the official Dark Shadows birthday month here! Hope your day is grande!

I did not get the idea that David was boasting or looking for undue sympathies from us/anyone. Just sharing his story.  People with mental illness sometimes have unusual compulsions and are unable to control them. The illness chooses the action not the person.
If just one person on this board read and felt they had a similar issue or might know someone who does then it may lead them down the road to a happier healthier life and prevent another family like the Hall's from going through something like that.   Mr Hall does deserve applause and commendations for forgiveness ( or compassion) is not something we always find easy to do.

Happy endings are awesome. I'm glad she was able to work through her struggles.

Funny some people remember weddings from years past and I remember the cake. So and so will say " Oh wasn't Betty's dress beautiful" and I'll say " Didn't she have the buttercream frosting with the red tulips surrounding it"  I sit as close to the cake table as possible. I don't care about catching some bouquet, doing the chicken dance or seeing the father-daughter dance.  It is all about the cake.

It kind of reminds me of that old joke about Willie Nelson. My aunt called me to tell me Willie Nelson died and I of course was " Oh my God that is terrible, how did it happen" Aunt Shirley replies " He got hit by a car playing on the road again"  I completely bought into the whole joke thinking it was real. Afterwards I did have a chuckle on myself.
