Jim Fyfe also had a skyped video greeting which was recorded for the event. He was really disappointed about his scheduling conflict. I purchased one of those cute t-shirts Sharon was selling.
I think this event ran so well because it was run by fans and many of the volunteers have been going to these things for years so they know what works and what doesn't. It is comforting to know that if the "traditional" fest as we all have attended cease to exist for any reason that someone else can take the wheels successfully.

I got home yesterday from Tarrytown. It was a wonderful weekend and a great gathering! Yes it was a small scale event with a few canceled guest but everyone was happy to be there and enjoyed the intimacy of the weekend. Sharon was so lovely and social all weekend. Donna came on Sunday and Chip Coffey was there both days. He is a very sweet man. Considering how blazing hot it was both days, I think everyone, guest and fans had a great time.
This event was so well run and run by fans which I think made the difference. I absolutely would attend another.

I've come to know Philippe quite well over the past years. I met him at an Anaheim fest and really enjoyed his company and we have hung out at several fest since. My prayers for a successful surgery and recovery my friend. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I hope the cruise is a success so it opens the door for other possibilities as Gerard mentioned instead of the back and forth coast. I love NYC but am open to other areas as well. This particular year the cruise did not fit my budget or timing. From the FB event page it sounds like they have some fun things planned last I checked.

I sent my check in this weekend! Very excited to see this event coming together and since I know how hard the organizers have worked on this I know the event will be well run, fun and a nice opportunity for fans and friends to gather. I appreciate that the organizers have taken the time to put this together. I remember last summer hearing about it and thought it was a wonderful idea! See you in July!

The last I heard on Facebook the cruise had 100 confirmed (booked) guest according to Arie Boris who is in charge of the event. I believe he is an employee of the cruise line. That sounds pretty promising. I hope all of the events are a huge success.

I am super excited about this event and it's getting really positive buzz on Facebook. The politics of it or what happens behind the scenes is kind of a bore to me so I tend to not pay much attention to it. I just go, have fun and look forward to the next one. How awesome that there are 3 events happening this year regardless of who is running it!
