...I decided to go with some of the Joan Bennett movies mentioned on these boards, which I'd never seen.
I purchased, "Secret on the Beach", and "Stranger Beyond the Door".

I'll post my 'opinions' when I get them, and when I actually watch them.

PLEASE SOMEONE SHOOT ME A PM OR POST A NOTICEABLE POST WHEN THE LATEST DOCTOR MABUSE GOES ON SALE...I HAVE BEEN WATCHING FOR MONTHS, AND I REMEMBER SOME ON HERE SAID NOVEMBER DVD RELEASE...

Thanks,

Patti

Current Talk '13 II / NoDS 126/127 Mont

The montage on CE/A is from NoDS; with Angelique apparently ready to be hanged.
I can't remember....didn't this take place in 1700s or 1600s? Because, if that's the case, the man (in aforementioned photo) should NOT be wearing a wedding ring!!

Current Talk '13 II / Statistical Question 2012 Movie
« on: October 25, 2013, 07:14:08 PM »
On Main Page it states the 2012 Depp/Burton movie played 23 weeks in theatres.

Is this considered good, bad, or average?

Thanks!

Calendar Events / Announcements '13 II / P&P Question
« on: October 24, 2013, 06:42:30 PM »
Nothing on TV for me last night, so I popped in E.A. Poe's "Pit and the Pendulum", starring Vincent Price.

A few questions:
Has anyone recently seen this version? I'm asking, because at the start of film, Elizabeth's brother is taken near to the house. There's alot of ocean/sea scenery; but, I can't place which ocean it is...it's quite blue, which definitely lets out Atlantic (at least on USA's side). If I had to guess, to me it looks clean and blue like what I've seen on film near Alaska...
But, I don't know if it's been 'remastered' etc...we all remember all the 'hubbub' of the '80s when films were being 'colored-ized'.

Next, as soon as I put the DVD in, I immediately remember that there's a story arc with  [hall_kiss] Quentin.
Sorry to saw, I can't remember the time (years and/or Real time v Parallel time).

Thanks

Patti

I received a **text**?? on my cell phone yesterday saying "The Univited" (original)  has shipped and should be here by Monday (28th). Also, (and Brian, I thought of YOU), it was 1.00 less than originally offered at; I received a 'regular' e-mail telling me that Amazon is refunding my debit card 1.00.

Patti...who is actually reeeeaaaallllyyyy hoping it comes for watching this Saturday night!!

Since it's October, the TV stations are playing any/everything 'spooky'.
There was nothing else on; I watched "The Unholy".
It only took me a moment to realize the star was Ben Cross!!

The movie is terrible, truly awful.

Patti, who just saw Ben Cross in first movie.

The Main Board's montage, 1972 Barn saying to Victoria that..."to betray one's kin...boil...."

I do not remember this...was this specific line deleted?

Thanks!

Current Talk '13 II / "Other"/Add'l DS Movies
« on: September 10, 2013, 11:59:38 PM »
Has anyone heard any word if there's any talk about additional DS movies (i.e., Quentin/werewolf, Laura, Stokes, etc., etc.)?

There's so much more which could be 'done'; granted, the 'main' part of the 'general' knowledge of DS is Barnabas...but that's just for the lay person. I do believe there are more that a few of us who love DS!!

I'm thinking of all the Star Trek movies they did; first, with original cast, then the various addendums to Star TrekS....

Patti...who is anxiously awaiting her "Star Trek Into Darkness".... :)

We had one of the 'premium' movie channels free this weekend; saw 2012 DS again!!

The main board (is that what we call the first board we enter?) show's a pic of JD's BC asking young Master David where the female coat attendant is.

Were women's 'outer-wear' called 'coats' back in late 1700s?

(For that matter, were men's?)

I love 2012 Dark Shadows!!

Was watching a 1997 re-run of "Touched By An Angel" last night....was quite surprised to see Abe Vigoda as a 'receptionist-type' for the 'High Angel'.
He looked somewhat different (than the usual DS/Fish/Barney Miller/etc, etc, ETC).

For our home ISP, we have Windstream (it's I suppose comparable to Comcast or Verizon), DSL.

It's the 'main' e-mail when asked by schools, work, etc.

For my Amazon & Google stuff, I have a gmail account (I also have a separate gmail via my school).

I just went to our Windstream e-mail; there were 150!! e-mails.

I looked at them (not one by one, but by what I new was sales pitches, etc).

There were more than 10 which had various 'message lines' stating shipping news, etc.

I have been getting quite a few DVDs via Amazon, plus Christmas is coming, so have been doing shopping. Don't know why I'd be getting emails through Windstream, but hey, wanted to make sure.
Again, they all had different Message Lines (most 'seemed' like they were from USPS), but when I opened, they were all various DHL shipping things; lines which read, "We tried to deliver your package...." (I have two unemployed daughters plus my son just went back to school on Friday...DON'T TELL ME NO ONE WAS HERE TO RECEIVE A PACKAGE!!)

Again...I really feel uneasy with it 'seeming' like it's USPS but really DHL.

Just wanted everyone to make sure to NOT reply;;;;there was no real routing type# (I wouldn't have bothered anyway; most Amazon comes via USPS).

Be careful!!

Testing. 1, 2, 3... / Re: Big Changes/Clear Cache
« on: August 05, 2013, 11:52:56 PM »
I had noticed MB's message about updating the site for August; he reminded us to clear our browsers, etc

Ever since I did this, many of the regular sites I visit have been very sluggish/slow. Including here. And FB, Amazon, Google (these are the primary sites I visit on my home PC).

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Patti

Yes, MB, I have cleared out my cache/whatever before (I had to read instruction on Chrome how to do it!)

Vicki & Barn walking (hmm...HATE that 'nouveux' vamps can 'deal' w/sunshine)...Barn asks Vicki, "Do you believe him (David), that she (Laura) speaks to him?"

Was this scene in the edited (released) movie? I've seen it about 4 times now, and sorry to say, this particular line is eluding me.

What's Vicki's answer?

Thanks,

Patti
