Testing. 1, 2, 3... / Yea or Nay: MB HAS BEEN SLACKING!!
« on: October 31, 2015, 08:27:54 PM »
IIRC, MB is a teacher.

This does NOT excluse his laxness to OUR beloved DS Board; WE all put in sooooo much time and energy for OUR board.

We pay MB well enough; I'm sure he owns a TV and, on rare occassion, goes to a mall (or even a CVS or Walgreen's).

Doesn't he understand that Halloween is WAAAAAYYY past prime-time for Christmas decorations?

MB, because we know you're getting on in years, I'll break this down one more time for you. PLEASE PRINT IT AND PUT IT NEAR YOUR COMPUTER. This will effect your next IEP.

A) By New Year's Day, there should be mainly emoticons for St. Valentine's day, with 25% also going to St. Patrick's Day.

B) By March 17th (St. Pat's Day), the emos MUST be replaced for Easter decorations.

C) 4 days BEFORE Easter, the entire board must be dedicated to the good 'ol US of A:
eg. Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.

D) 4 days BEFORE Labor Day, you MUST HAVE Halloween emos on the board.

E) 5 days BEFORE Halloween, 80% emos should be for Thanksgiving, the remaining looking towards Hannukah and Christmas.

F) We will give YOU 2 days of 'wiggle' time of when you would like to decorate for New Year's Eve/Day.

I think it would be nice, since you're ONLY a teacher (P/T job), if, for New Years, you went through EACH BOARD, picked out various topics for "The Year in Review". We who post deserve to be remembered for our time and effort.

MB, we appreciate your work, but, please remember WE pay your very generous salary. Toe the line dude.

i wuv you mb

Testing. 1, 2, 3... / Regarding Robservations
« on: October 29, 2015, 05:54:44 PM »
Alright, we all know what 'binge watching' is.

Well, sometimes, I 'binge READ' Robservations.

It's ALWAYS bothered me, that if I know I read through ep 890, therefore, I'd next want t read ep#891, why, if I"m in Robservations, can't I just put in ep#891 (I'm trying to type it how it reads on the board).

Is there a way?

It's sooooooo arduous; if I were to go on Robservations, I can't tell go to page 16, nope, that's eps 210-approx 260. So, try page 22, nope that's eps 1102-1122, etc, etc.

Any suggestions for fluidity?

Thanks,

Patti

Calendar Events / Announcements '15 II / OT<Movies...Should I?
« on: October 29, 2015, 05:49:49 PM »
At work, came across a multi-pack spooky & detectivey movies.

I'll list more than a few; to me, on the cover, I thought it was James Franco. But, from the movie listings (some with stars, or year of release, not so much).

If anyone has any 'opinions' of these, please say yeah or nay.

Bunch of Mysterious Mr. Wong (seems vaguely familiar from my youth).

Doomed to Die (Karloff as Mr. Wong).

The Black Book, starring R. Cummings.

A few Dick Tracys.

A. Hitch presents:
The Sorcerer's Apprentice (says 'adult situations).

The Farmer's Wife; Blackmail, The Manxman

Looks to be about 20 Sherlock Holmes starring Ronald Howard, H. Marion-Crawford & Archie Duncan (don't know if they're all in the same movies, or, different actors). No Basil Rathbone though :(

Anybody? There were more; I guess my camera didn't catch them. (I know Karloff was in a few and IIRC, so was V. Price.

The movie (it says 50 movies) is $16.

Should I? Would you?

Thanks,

Patti

Current Talk '15 II / 10/3 Montage
« on: October 03, 2015, 02:34:51 PM »
The montage for Current Talk 15 has a pic of a young woman, saying, "Don't worry David, I'm here".
It also says OS .

Why would David wonder about Angelique?

I may be incorrect, but, isn't OS 1966-1971?

Thanks,

Patti

Just checking on all my friends up & down the eastern seaboard.

In Georgia, we've already had 2-3", but, tonight in my area, allegedly we're to get 5-10 more....

But, I think my NC & NJ friends will get the most.

Please, if you're a resident of a state of the Atlantic Ocean, please checking in regularly.

Thank you,

Patti

Calendar Events / Announcements '15 II / <OT TV Series
« on: October 01, 2015, 07:05:14 PM »
At work yesterday, I noticed a TV series called, "A Haunting".
It's seasons 1-6 for $15.

Has anyone ever seen this show? Was it made for a specific cable channel?

Input would be appreciated.

Alrighty...was it about 13-14 years ago, that Sci-Fi had a "Twin Peaks" marathon; alot of you were excited about this show. I asked & asked what it was about, buy nobody replied. (I can understand, little hard.)

Soooo, now with Netflix, I guess with the new to come "Twin Peaks", it's on NF.

I watched my first ep of "Twin Peaks".

I think the best part of the first 5-10 minutes was seeing (in different scenes), the would-have-been in-laws of George 'Can't Stand Ya". That cracked me up.

Just before watching it, I had seen 5 min. of "How I Met"...Robin was with her dad; then, he's on "Twin Peaks"!!!

Michael Oktean (sp) is always delightful. I read (oh, whats Anna Nardina's real name); took me a while to realize it was her (15 years is alot on a 25ish girl).

I'm going to watch another ep or two now.

So far, it's very good.

Current Talk '15 II / Murky/Inaccurate Memories...?
« on: September 15, 2015, 04:39:43 AM »
First...howdy y'all. I've not been on in a while, thanks to my illustrious career at Walmart. [ghost_blink]

Put in the '12 Depp movie last night. While it's not blu ray, I'm now watching on my 42" flat screen and a blu ray! Wow!

I'm going to 'try' to put my OS questions in bold, my '12 questions in italics.

Ang's curse was that whomever Barn loved, would die.
Murky Sarah memory....she was sick, can't remember if it was plaque or one of the common for that time diseases. IIRC, Barn asked Ang's to help....again, IIRC Ang's did NOT want to hurt Sarah, correct?

We know why short cuts on movie.
Barn (and therefore Sarah) were BORN in the 'new world', not England, correct? What about Joshua & Naomi (because Judas Collins (I always want to say Judah Macabee :) ) was in 'new world' (though, so was some incarnation of Ang).

MB, I know you love your "Elementary"....but, again, WHY DID THEY MAKE ROGER SUCH A PRICK? And, where does 'serial/mass murderer' Barn get to tell him to leave?

I believe we all L O V E  Roger proclaiming to ghost of some dude  [ghost_grin] "We'll be back...."

In the secret basement room with loads of riches, I briefly noticed some paintings. What would c. 1790 pictures be of great $$ value? Also, Joshua was wearing the crimson 'necklace' (which is in Barn's portrait). Did Barn take it off of his Dad? If so, how did it get to the rich basement (while Ang was having townfolk put Barn in a box)?

The stars of the 2012 movie have REALLY taken off. I believe I finally know (I hope) that Ang is Eva Green, aka, Penny Dreadful. What's his name is Sherlock,I forget Vicki (but I know something(s), also 'Carolyn'. The boy who played David...what's his real name? Has he been cast for anything substantial? (Look at JGL!)
I don't think I need to mention  [ghost_smiley] Michelle Pfieffer or Johnny Depp.

Thanks for reading, and, perhaps more than 1 or 2 could put their opinions/facts.

Testing. 1, 2, 3... / Wave of the Future (Even Past 1995)
« on: August 14, 2015, 02:13:54 AM »
Alright, when I had orig. bought the Depp DS, there's code thingy inside DVD case.

Now, I've just purchased my 2nd Blu ray ("True Story" with J. Hill & J. Franco).

There's a whole 'hoopla':

Get your Digital Version of True Story with digital HD. Instantly stream and dowload.

3 Easy Steps

Go to FoxRedeem.com (I tried, it never would load)
Enter the redemption code below
Select your preferred service to redeem your movie.

Okay, HUH?

I have the DVD...
if I enter the redemption code onto my computer, wouldn't that take up a sizeable amount of RAM or whatever?
But, if I do it, and I'm at a friends (and I know the magic code), could we watch my 'movie', without having the disc there?

Instantly stream & DL to:
TV
Computer
Tablet
Smartphone

I reiterate, HUH?

I put this here, not on testing, because, again, it was 'similar-ish' to the inside of my Depp/DS (that wasn't blu ray AND there was a time constraint).

Testing. 1, 2, 3... / Slowly I Turn...
« on: August 05, 2015, 04:18:32 AM »
Okay, for DSL where I live, there is ONLY Windstream.

When I was doing college, I had purchased Office 2010, which was for 3 computers.

When I got my first laptop, I called & they were able to help me install it on here.

Recently, I had to (I forget, but Office went away).

I called, I was on phone for more than two hours. The rep said, just let it run. (They had done the thing where they were 'in charge' of my computer.)

That didn't work.

Started my job, finally called again. Again, more than two hours on phone, with them in my computer. It would go like this:

3 hrs., 24 min remain
7 hrs.,  9 min remain
two days, 3 hrs., 12 minutes
9 hrs.....

You get the gist. And this was all within a mere 1-2 minutes. The rep said let it run. I would look at it, and finally at some point, it actually was legit counting down. I looked, and there were mere seconds. So, I got my computer, and there was an error message.

Both times, the reps have said it's because the service is too slow.

On my FB, I belong to a group within my county, who is really getting screwed over. The worst is the county seat; they'll list where they wouldn't have PHONE SERVICE for hours, yet alone internet.

The latest rep had tried to see if, using my PC,  could copy the disk which came w/Office 2010 onto a USB (it kept popping out; I guess to protect itself from fraud...) Plus, the first and second times, I never needed a disk (my laptop doesn't have a disc insert).

Does anyone have any suggestions? I really need Office.

Now, when I came on this evening, there was a message that I can upgrade to Win 10 (it says it the full deal, no trial, etc). But, I'm wondering, if I can't even install something like Office (which, I have PP, Excel, and Word), how can my whole system upgrade.

Help
