Besides Amazon, does anyone have some suggestions on how I find a book?

I don't remember the title, but, >< 1 year, I believe it was published in 2003.

It's a book about how each state became part of America (when, why, if becoming a state, slavery would be allowed).

I'm not positive, but, I believe each state was listed alphabetically, not chronologically.

Amazon et al. list books on America, but, those are for children; there will also be America books on each state's bird; sticker or puzzle books.

It would have been a little large, but, I'd put it in the 'coffee table' book arena.

I kept borrowing it from the library,   I LOVED this book.

Thanks,

Patti

I was on IMDb, and saw some younger star will be in another "Miss Pellegrine........" (sorry, don't remember anything, except I checked to make sure Eva Green is still in it).
She is....

Current Talk '16 II / 50th Anniversary DVD
« on: August 02, 2016, 05:28:45 AM »
Could someone briefly tell me which eps are on the 50th anniversary DVD?

(And, if you're able, please don't say 'episode 58th, but, rather ep 58th; Vicki is locked in an upstairs abandoned room...I'll know what is next.)

Since I'm obviously NEVER going to own the complete series, I'll 'piece meal it'; I just bought the Haunting of Collinwood, and a few years back, I had bought the Fan Favs.

Merci beaucoup,

Patti

Current Talk '16 II / Grayson's Characters
« on: July 24, 2016, 06:18:24 AM »
I know there are a few people who sorta/kinda L O V E Grayson, so, I'm mining for info.

Were there ever any articles (print or audio) where Grayson mentions which was her favorite DS characterization (not character, her characters)?)

Were Sandor & Magda from Romania? How on Earth did they get to Maine?

(If anyone knows if T. David enjoyed playing a gypsy, this would be nice to know.)

Was she ever asked about what is was like to 'kill herself' (i.e., Julia whackin' Hoffman)?

I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but, was it ever mentioned on the show where she attended med school?

Again, someone tell me....was she on before Barn?

Thanks a bunch,

Patti

Main page (and this one also), top there's a pic of Lara Parker w/Louis.

She's a blonde, so no Cassandra.

Oh, duh, is Angelexis!

The other day, I received an email from Amazon, asking if I wanted to 'trade in' some of the DVDs I've purchased from them. (I believe this is in regards to the big 'hoopla' on July 12th.)

Most of what I would want to send back is less than 1.00/each. The only good one is "Veronica Mars", which I bought and never even took out of the packaging.

So, if you buy from Amazon, and there's movies (and, it's not just movies; books, ebooks), you should immediately go to Amazon & check.

Testing. 1, 2, 3... / DL an App to Watch Free DS???
« on: July 09, 2016, 05:02:28 AM »
So, I was trying to chat w/Amazon rep regarding what they have to offer (I'm currently PAYING for Netflix).

Then, at bottom, I see an ad for Free TV. I don't DL it. I read it. I copied it & hoping in a Mysterious way, someone could tell me if it's bad (please don't ask me to expand on that), usually, you get what you pay for.

Current Talk '16 II / 2004 WB pilot / Fest questions
« on: July 07, 2016, 04:31:41 AM »
I wonder how many 'lite' fans knew there was a 2004 attempt at a re-do.

I know people have mentioned in Fests of past how they'd air it; I've yet to see it.

Let me see if I can remember who was slated/stared: Matt Chrunchy (I know the spelling is wrong), Blair Brown, um....um....

When is the last time, at a Fest (and it doesn't have to only be a one of the annual east coast/west coast Fests) that the 2004 WB pilot has been shown? Again, wondering how many 'lite' fans knew/know about it....

Patti

PS, I say this, because, if I'm not mistaken, there's a least one Florida Fest every so often. (I'm wondering how I remember or know this....)

Calendar Events / Announcements '16 II / General Fest Question
« on: July 01, 2016, 02:52:00 AM »
I know this is/was the 50th of the Original DS series, but, I believe I've heard of actors from other incarnations of various DS occassionally at fests.

I realize the orig. cast isn't getting any younger; but, how often (if ever) has anyone from ANY of the 'other' DS' has come to a fest (as an alum)?

The actors from the 2004 pilot? '90/'91 alums?

Also, would anyone from the 2012 movie come (maybe they have, and I've just over looked it on here).

Eva Green sparing with Lara Parker....waaaayyyy beyond priceless!!

I *believe* Michelle Pfeiffer is the only remaining Liz (but am not 100% sure).

Imagine Harvey Keitel at a fest!!!

Did Abe Vigoda ever attend any fests?

Okay, I've just watched what is probably within the 25 top worst movies, ever.

It was part of a 4-pack "Movies 4 You: Horror".

OMG....it was soooo baaad (and I'm not talking 'Bad, watch your mouth).

Terrible....terrible.

But, at least I have my friends here to talk about stinko (I was going to say vampire, but, the dude doesn't turn into a vampire, just a vampire bat, man sized).

Calendar Events / Announcements '16 II / Daughters of Darkness
« on: June 26, 2016, 04:45:39 AM »
Decided I would finally watch, "Daughters of Darkness".

I thought watcing a Hammer Dracula would start me off well. I watched, "Dracula 72 AD", which, I can't remember ever seeing. When I looked at my phone & showed it was 11:30 pm, I popped Drac out, and I'm just starting DoD.

Weird...has different companies for the various countries it was released it (I've never seen that before).

I actually put my hand over my eyes....no way am I ready to 'see' JK (in the Biblical sense!!)

So, if you're like me, and not attending the fest, I'll put more regarding "Daughters of Darkness" as I watch it.

I was looking at some films at Amazon.
First, I had put in the parameters 'spooky movies', and, with the exception of Scooby Do, ALL were EXCLUSIVELY for Prime to rent or buy.
Tried chatting w/an agent, who then forwarded me, and then, zilch.

Alright, went back onto Amazon, looked at my order history; clicked on a Vincent Price or older type horro. (I was rightfully assuming it would say 'people who purchased this also purchased that.."

Then, I thought maybe I should shop for price. I went onto oldiesdoctcom (where I purchased my Dr. Mabuse).

When I typed in the address, I got the following:

There is no web application configured to service your request

????????????????????????????????????????? huh?????????????????????

Any input would be appreciated.

I would also GREATLY appreciate it if lots of cousins suggest movie names; I prefer older flicks, buy not exclusively. (To me, 70s are not older.)

Thanks!

Patti
