Testing. 1, 2, 3... / Selling Out
« on: November 23, 2016, 03:54:11 AM »
Does anyone on here have any experience selling on ebay?

I see some 'rules'....

I have 5-6 DVDs which I'd like to sell; is jumping through ebay's rules worth it?

Or, is there another way (easier) to sell, again, just some dvds.

Thanks,

Patti

Boy, would I be happy if someone NOW went to ebay, and offered bushro81 $10.50 for his copy of "Race with the Devil".
(I found the only one that doesn't come w/"Dirty Harry/Crazy Mary" or whatever.)

I lost my job yesterday & don't need a $10 movie.

Calendar Events / Announcements '16 II / Big Lou Questions
« on: November 09, 2016, 05:12:49 AM »
While watching Disc 8 last night, I was wondering about Louis Edmonds (sp).

DS went off-air early '71.

Am I correct in thinking LE started on AMC in approximately 1976?

If so, can anyone tell me what he was doing in those approximate 5 years?

Thank you very much, [hall2_kiss] [hall2_kiss] [hall2_kiss] [hall2_kiss] [hall2_kiss]

Calendar Events / Announcements '16 II / Nancy Barrett/Fest Question
« on: November 09, 2016, 04:54:57 AM »
I've never really heard people mentioning Nancy B. at various fests. Perhaps I just didn't notice.

Is she a 'regular' at most fests? Just off the top of my head, I'd list L. Parker, KL Scott, J. Karlen, Peter Bradford (OMG, I really can't think of his name!), C. Pennock (sometimes, not always), usually D. Selby.

Hmm...did D. Nickerson attend any of the 50th anniversary fest(s)? How about Sharon Smyth?

And, since there's:

OS
HoDS
NoDS
'90 reboot
'04 pilot
'12 movie

Are any and all DS actors from any of the above mentioned invited/allowed? (don't know if I phrased that properly....)

Also, have there been times when children/grandchildren of the OS actors (who had passed on) ever attended with tales of family times (say, Joan Bennett's granddaughter; if she were around, would she have 'carte blanche' to attend (btw, I have no idea if J. B. has/had a granddaughter).

...I've never really quite gotten the whole "Six degrees of separation", but, Midnite posted about the Halloween fest mentions:
who knew that Daniel Roebuck is a fan?

By streeeetchiiing it, I can say that D. Roebuck was in "Dark & Stormy Night" with Betty Garrett (Irene Lorenzo on "All in the Family"), and so was Jim Beaver ("Supernatural").

The stretch would be that on I believe 2 occasions on "Supernatural", there's eps which are reminiscent of "Dracula" and "Frankenstein". I do believe these may have been 'covered' a little on DS  [hall2_rolleyes]

IIRC, someone else on here has mentioned Daniel Roebuck. I like him from Cliff on "Matlock". But his performance on "Dark & Stormy Night" is quite fun.

On the 4-pack movie I recently bought, there is "The Return of the Vampire", starring Bela.

It primarily takes places in WWII time London.

Bela's help-mate is a 'change-able' werewolf.

I thought EVERYTHING we know is that werewolves & vamps do NOT like each other.

Also, when I say 'change-able', the werewolf can change at will, and back again, easy-peasy.

(I think werewolf/vamp might exist in the "Twilight" series, I never watched them.)

Is there any lore where they can stand each other?

Also, I'll bring it up again....

Who's in 'the camp' in which VAMPIRES can deal with SILVER?

Who's in 'the camp' in which WEREWOLVES can deal with silver?

Even though the film is primarily during WWII, I don't think Bela deals with it.

Have there been other 'spooky' films taking place during wars (of which we were involved)?

It's never mentioned how the werewolf can literally switch back and forth from man to 'monster'.

Just saw the ep in which Maggie goes to Collinwood for the first time.

HE BORROWED..., yes, Dan Curtis borrowed from 'Tiffany'.

When Maggie first enters the grand estate, her upswept hair and her 'eh, chi-chi suit, she looks like Audrey Hepurn in "Breakfast at Tiffany's".

Go ahead....watch....

(wouldn't it be nice if a pic of that would, 'magically' appear...........)

Full A Ed poster.

I tried looking it up w/advanced search (assumed it would be 'Testing'), but when I put in Full A Ed, I got the reply, "Each word must have at least 2 letters".

Point me in the right direction please...

So, I started putting in 2 volume, still Beginnings.

But, I've really been wanting to see when Q sees Laura in 1897.

So, since I OWN the WHOLE SERIES....I went to the ep guide, included in the WHOLE SERIES, and found which ep/disc.

I wouldn't go so far as to claim DSFMS, but, I was disappointed.

I REALLY thought Quentin says, "BUT you're dead!" But, there was no 'but'.

Cool being able to put on ANY ep that I wanted though!!!!

Calendar Events / Announcements '16 II / OT -- FL Cousins
« on: October 05, 2016, 04:22:50 AM »
I know we have a good amount of Florida cousins on here.

At work this afternoon & evening (I work at a HoJos), I had many calls from peeps in NC, SC, and FL to see if we had rooms available, starting tomorrow.

I hooked up this nice lady from Cocoa Beach; her husband, a truck driver who is currently in like TX, was to meet her/kids at hotel.

Right before I left, she was calling to cancel....why? Parts of I-95 have been closed, you'll be re-routed to Tampa area.

Her husband has to stay where he is, because the DOT is starting a no go anywhere plan.

For everyone, you might want to hit you bank and get cash. If you're nearing med refills, do it now.

Stay safe,

Patti

I had a $7.XX credit on ebay...but it would expire in less than a month.

I decided to see on the remote chance a) all 7 "Saw" movies would be for sale together, and b) they were within a reasonable price range. They were, and, with my 'credit', it only cost me $2.XX (there was tax on them).

Secondly, I had seen a 4-movie set: Return Of The Vampire/Revenge Of Frankenstein/Mr Sardonicus/Brotherhood Of Satan
for about the same price. I called my daughter, who told me to get the "Saw". (IMHO, for a 'newer' slasher-type horror, "Saw" was very, very well done; good forethought, good directing.)

But, I also had some weird $5.00 credit on Amazon, but for ONLY something sold and fulfilled by Amazon (this usually makes whatever movie 3 times as much). But, I got the above 4-pack for $6.XX (S&H inclusive)!

Whoop!! Whoop!!

I'm reasonably sure I've seen "Return of the Vampire", and possiibly "Revenge of Frankenstein", but not in a very long time. (I've probably seen the other 2, but too much water under that bridge.)

**Plus** I've got my season 5/Hotel AHS coming in a few days....October should be veddy cool.
