Calendar Events / Announcements '06 I / Kate Jackson on Larry King Live
« on: February 10, 2006, 06:42:26 PM »
Kate Jackson appeared on Larry King Live earlier this month. (I think it was on Feb. 3, but I'm not sure.) The topic of the show was surviving heart disease, and Patty Duke was also a guest. Jackson has appeared on the show in the past to discuss this issue. This episode will air again on Saturday, Feb. 11, at 9 pm Eastern for anyone who's interested.

Hmmm. Sam "Boom Boom" Evans. I like the sound of that. Beats the heck out of my low paying artist gig.

Reminds me of the recent Fest in Hollywood.  Johnny Karlen and KLS were on stage and someone asked them if they thought Jonathan would ever come back to the Fests, in particular would he show up for the 40th this summer.  KLS started out by saying something like, "Um, well, I haven't spoken to Jonathan in awhile, but I think we might be able to persuade him.  Sure, why not!" and Karlen said into the mic, "Johnny ain't comin'!" to which the audience roared w/laughter.
That wasn't the only time he decided to have some fun at her expense. She made some remark about the location being great, and he responded with something along the lines of: "There she goes again. Miss Everything Is So Nice. I'm so nice. Good God, woman!"  ;D

I can't remember who wrote it, it may have been from a suggestion from Dan Curtis himself, but the worst plot point was
the whole business about Peter Bradford's ghost seeking revenge for Jeb KILLING VICKIE somewhere in the past. Terrible "deus ex Machina".That is not a Violet Wells contribution, I'd bet!
I realize the expression is not taken literally, but I'm still trying to get past the use of the Latin word for god in reference to a Roger Davis character.   ;D

Ms. Criseyde, I'm sorry I missed your special birthday home page.  [cryg] I just saw the update about it on my computer's Home Page.  Oh well...
She who hesitates is not lost.   ;)

Since you and some other folks missed it, I've reposted it on a different page. It's here.

Oh yeah, my Mom had wigs going into the mid-70s. We found something particularly horrifying about the flat-faced, white styrofoam wig forms, so we drew faces on them with Crayons when she wasn't looking.  ;D

February 5 is David Selby's birthday. If you're incredibly bored and/or easily amused, then you can entertain yourself with the frivolity on the main page of my David Selby site:

Speaking of blue eyes, DS male heartthrob, Quentin, has been described as having blue eyes, but they also look more gray.
Selby's eyes are most definitely blue, but the videotape on DS doesn't always do them justice.

On the other hand, I was listening to Lynda Carter's commentary on one of the Wonder Woman DVDs recently, and she remarked that her eyes looked much bluer in the episode she was discussing than they are in real life, so I guess it works both ways.

I'm not a big Grayson Hall fan, but I'll always vote for anything that involves fans and/or actors on stage discussing or presenting new projects or attempts to restore original material.

And if it keeps Diana Millay from telling her story about spending the night at Lyndhurst for the third or fourth time, then I might even wear a button or carry a sign to support the cause.  ;D

They've added more production stills since I initially posted the link, including a close-up of Selby in his shades
A larger version of this photo was added this week to DavidSelby.com. (By the way, if you want to receive an email notice whenever there is new material on the official Selby site, visit the Welcome page, scroll to the bottom, and subscribe to the FeedBlitz email updates.)

how have the dealer's rooms been in the past?
This past year, the dealers didn't do a very brisk business. Part of it had to do with scheduling and folks clinging tenaciously to their prized seats in the main room. Part of it also had to do with the layout of the hotel and the traffic flow. Most of the actors who set up tables to sell their wares did so outside the dealers' room, which does make it easier when it comes time for the autograph line, but I suspect some folks didn't realize there was a separate room behind them, especially since the lines for autographs, badges, and banquet tickets were sometimes configured in such a way that the room appeared to be closed and/or off-limits.  :(

Except for when we were practically in the middle of nowhere in Tarrytown in '04, my use of any of the hotels' vendors has been negligible at best.  :-[  And even that year I made two trips into NYC.
It was either that or starve.  ;) That is undoubtedly the worst service I have ever seen in any restaurant in my life.

That was the Festival room rate indeed, which is why I don't think we go there anymore, they were losing money!  It's prime, mid-town real estate near everything!   ;)
Midtown and the theatre district have been losing some of their oldest businesses lately due to the real estate market. The Howard Johnson's facing Times Square closed within the past year. Barrymore's will close at the end of the month.

A lot of the hotels near Times Square don't have convention facilities adequate for the DS Fest crowd. The ones that do typically have higher room rates. The going rate for a room at the Marquis right now is around $270.  :o
