In that vein, how 'bout Elvira in the role of Eve.  'Course, this would be if DS was turned into a comedy, LOL! ;)
She could be Amanda Harris because that part of the show was definitely a joke.  >:D

Wow, that's a hairy thought.
I was found it rather hair-raising myself.  ;D

Joe, if it makes you feel any better I was the person who got Jonathan Frid to participate this year and make the videotape.  I wasn't even acknowledged in any way.  The fans enjoyed it and that was the goal.
In that regard, fandom's not a whole lot different from other situations where a group of people come together to contribute to a project. Ultimately, you have to decide whether just knowing people enjoy the end result is enough for you or whether it's important to you that you be acknowledged for what you do, and there's certainly nothing wrong with that either. I don't necessarily want to be acknowledged for everything I do because anonymity affords a higher level of privacy and a certain degree of freedom. On the other hand, there's nothing like someone else taking credit for something I've done to make me become very public and very vocal about my efforts.  ;D

I should probably mention a couple of things about this particular item. First, the good news is that there are additional dates that have been announced in other cities that I haven't posted yet; however, the potential bad news is that all of these venues note on their web sites that the cast is subject to change, and I don't have any confirmation, beyond what's posted on these sites, that Selby will indeed be appearing. So don't start selling organs or plasma to get to one of these shows just yet.  ;D

Anyone say which expletives?
The version Selby told involved using the word "shit."

Can't remember if it was in Scrapbook Memories or the DS Companion, or whether it was KLS or Lara who told the tale, although I'm really thinking Lara, that Jonathan would do this often.  According to her telling, he was the only one w/enough nerve to do it. ;)
I don't know about who really did or didn't do it, but Selby told the story about this particular trick in the Q&A that followed his Lincoln and James performance at the 1997 Fest. He says Grayson Hall offered it as a bit of advice which she had supposedly received from Richard Burton when filiming Night of the Iguana. I think RJ's Grayson bio also mentions Burton passing this along to Grayson.

I still want to know who the b**** was :)
I think it was the woman who won the auction -- the one who was making such a spectacle of herself that her friends wanted to crawl under their chairs.  ;D

Does anyone know when this movie is to be released?
I've heard it's going direct to DVD. Amazon lists it here, but without a release date, and I'm pretty sure the company is wrong.

There was a trailer online on the 120dB Films site. Click Projects, then Prev, then Unknown. Last time I tried it, though, it didn't work. It did at one point.  :(

It's also in the gallery of this Jim Caviezel web site. Cover the kids' ears. They drop the F-bomb a lot.

You SAID it, Midnite!
Couldn't agree with you more. Breakfast wasn't a problem because the restaurant had a buffet. You were pretty much shit out of luck for any other meal.

Supposedly, hotels make money off conventions when the participants use hotel services, such as the bar and restaurant. There's no telling how much money the Marriott could've made and didn't because they didn't turn over tables fast enough and people got fed up after one bad experience and sought food elsehwere. You can't say we didn't try.  ;)

There was a FANTASTIC bar/restaurant about 2-3 blocks from the hotel, can't remember the street it was on but you had to cross the street in front of the hotel, walk through the courthouse courtyard, cross one more street and pass a Duane Reade's.  It was an Irish pub and I think it was something like Moira's?  Or something like that--Sheenasma, MsCriseyde, LdyAnne, do you recall the name?  Anyway, the food was great, reasonably priced and the service was steller.  They even put up w/our rowdy bunch late at night.  ;)

A film version of Sondheim, or a film of the story that predates the musical?
Of Sondheim. Depp has said in recent interviews that he will obviously have to take voice lessons for the role.

I actually saw Sweeney when I was in NY for the Fest, it was FABULOUS!  I highly recommend everyone seeing it!
They'd better move quickly. The last performance is tomorrow.  ;D Supposedly, there will be a national tour of the show beginning next summer, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Tim Burton is doing a film version starring Johnny Depp. Dreamworks confirmed it was on their slate just this past week. It's supposed to start filming early next year and be released in late 2007 or early 2008.

Apologies if this is getting a little too far off topic.  :)

The registration table in the next room actually had no line when I arrived, though that wasn't the case when it first opened a few hours earlier.
Maybe one of these years they will finally figure out that, if you're going to have separate volunteers handling different letters of the alphabet, then the lines should run perpendicular to the registration table rather than having a single line parallel to it.  ::)

I can only assume you're referring to Jim Pierson and Richard Halperin being in the cast photo's they are in.  If so, they were part of the two reinactments so they are actually justified in being in those photos.
To that I would add that you'll notice the absence of the original series cast members who were not involved in the reading -- Millay, McKechnie, Durkin, etc. It was only an official cast photo insofar as it represented the cast of the Fest readings, not the cast of the original series.
