I don't know if someone else posted about this?
Umm . . . yeah. I've been posting stuff about it on my David Selby site since he started working on it, and there's also stuff on the Official David Selby site. It's part of the IFC Films First Take series.

Because of the nature of the film, there's not a lot of information available about specific characters. David was included in an earlier version of the trailer that was floating around the Internet at one point, but he doesn't appear in the official version.

Not exactly supernatural and not exactly DS-related except that it involves a soap incorporating some interesting new elements:

I'm waiting for Wonder Woman to show up on another soap.  [hall2_grin]

And apparently he didn't want anyone to leave before Nancy Barrett's show, told ppl, FORCEFULLY, to sit down, suggesting he would have made ppl stay even if they didn't want to. [hall2_rolleyes]

I left
Hellfire and damnation await.  [hall2_grin]

His was less relevant than Lara's in the black dress talking about the lore of the vampire.   [hall2_rolleyes]
Do you think it's because he lacks star quality or was it simply that he chose not to wear an empire-waisted velvet dress and conduct his interview in candlelight?  >:D

I'm confused, were these pics of Wally taken at the Vista event?  'Cause KLS and LP aren't in their costumes, and Chris and John are there.  I thought they were no-shows.   [hdscrt]
He and his entourage showed up at the last California Festival. That's where those photos were taken.

Roger Davis' name was dropped from advertisements before the event, nor was it on the marquis, so he really wasn't a no show.
What about Joan Bennett? [hall2_wink]

Here's someone's blog entry about the event. It includes photos.

I expect Sheenasma and/or Criseyde to ring in here w/a hearty agreement seeing as [spoiler]it was Death who killed Amanda Harris![/spoiler]   [hall2_grin]
I suppose it goes without saying that this week when I saw another appearance by Emory Bass on DVD set 25 as a minister a smile crossed my lips.  [hall_wink]

Calendar Events / Announcements '06 II / Interesting Remix of DS Theme
« on: October 26, 2006, 04:37:16 PM »
Stumbled across an interesting remix of the DS Theme, "Dark Shadows Cha Cha Cha" on a blog. It would've been a lot more fun if the dialogue mixed in had been from the show itself, but you can't have everything.  [hall2_wink]

This has apparently been circulating online for at least a year, so folks may have heard it before.

But really, folks, it's not an interview.
I certainly can't disagree with that, but one has to question why it is billed as such on the packaging and on the DVD menu if it is not intended to be construed as an interview.

The Parker interview in question was noted in a review that was published when the DVD was originally released. I posted a link to it at the time. Click below to access the original post/thread.
Methinks David is alone in his opinion.  [hall2_grin]

Also great, is an "interview+, obviously a staged reading, by Lara Parker. In a flowing black gown, with candles around her, she talked seductively about the sensuality of vampires.
I think that is undoubtedly the single worst "interview" on any of the DS DVDs. Anyone could've delivered a "lecture" on the sexual nature of vampires. She didn't say anything that any lit major who's barely stuck their toes into the area of horror hasn't heard before.

Personally, I think the point of interviewing the actors is to draw on their experience as actors in the show, whether that involves their perception of their characters, their experiences while the show was in production, or their feelings about the continued popularity of the series.

Parker's ode to the sensual vampire, as I recall, is pretty much devoid of any direct reference to the series. It comes across as rather self-indulgent.
