Q is for qualifications, which weren't very important to the Collins family whenever it came time to hire a governess for the brat(s) in residence.

Now I'm dying to buy a pair so I can wash them and test this whole flammability warning. I can envision a whole YouTube Mythbusters parody with these things, and dom could sing the jingle.  ;D

(Obviously it never left the shelves either, lol, since no one ever knows what the hell I am talking about when I sing it.)
Think again. You can buy them on eBay (along with everything else). Click the link below for an image. I especially love the warning about the garment becoming "dangerously flammable" (as opposed to safely flammable I guess).

Who's the guy/ghost that appears and can't talk and makes funny faces?
That description covers Gerard, whose ghost, thanks to his facial expressions and the lighting, bears a striking resemblance to an Oompa-Loompa.  ;D But I doubt that's who you meant.

Good grief. Are we going to run through every tired old lame phone prank?
Um, I thought we were supposed to NOT criticize ppl about their captions.  Isn't that what Dom said a few weeks ago?  What's the deal?
There are several posts in the thread, including my own, that were based on "tired old lame phone pranks." In fact, I believe my own reference to the "Is your refrigerator running?" gag was the first caption in the thread. My comment was as much an indictment of my own corny joke as anyone else's in the thread, hence the use of the self-inclusive word we. No one was being singled out for criticism. It had more to do with laughing at ourselves as a group. I'm sorry that you missed the humor.

Q is for quid pro quo, which Angelique always insisted on.

As for who thought up the name I have no idea but it's possible that someone who worked on the show had some relative with Hollinshead as a last name and suggested it when the writers said, "Ok we need some WEIRD name!"
I like to think they borrowed the name from Michael Hollingshead, who is credited with introducing Timothy Leary to LSD, but I am easily amused.  ;D

Does one receive a gift certificate to Borders for such an honor?
That could lead to less time spent on the forum. If they gave out prizes, it would probably be something like a mouse pad.  ;)

X is for Xander, which they could've called Alexander for short. (Cut me some slack. It's X.)

R is for the rectory.

Wait a minute. The signing is on 2PM the afternoon of the Oscars?

Uh, not the most convenient day for most people in LA...
Darren -- Do you have a fitting scheduled that late? Tsk tsk tsk.  ;D

L is for longevity, which could apply to the show's popularity or to some of its immortal characters.

V: What do you mean "I'd better go catch it?" I don't understand!  ;D
