Reincarnation knows no gender boundaries...
Oh boy.  What would Barnabas have done if Willie, Roger, or even Harry Johnson had turned out to be the reincarnation of his beloved Josette?
On a somewhat related note, speaking of gender, I've been watching the Adam/Eve storyline, just prior to Eve's creation, when they seem to be auditioning every female for the role of "life force." I could see someone having a field day with what the need for a female "life force" donor says about how the series perceives sex and gender.

What would've happened if they had opted for a male life force for Eve? Better yet, what if Adam had volunteered his own "life force" in much the same way the biblical Adam's rib became the source for Eve?

I have to find interesting questions to ponder since the episodes are so very boring.  ;D

I mean, someone as refined as yourself?  (wink2)
Yeah, I'm a regular Letitia Baldrige.  ;D

"Vicki would simply not take no for an answer - she insisted Barnabas accompany her and Burke to the Collinsport Pleasure Chest, no matter how awkward it might be."

I figured the Surreal Life was the show were talking about - but I just couldn't resist the joke.  >:D

(we really need a new word to convey just what these programs present--it's nothing like the form of "reality" I know!).

Indeed.  ::)
One thing I do like about VH1's "reality" shows it that they do sort of wink at the notion that they are real, hence the title Surreal Life and their reference to their particular brand of shows as "celebreality."

To bring this back to DS, I know someone a while back who was making a concerted effort to contact VH1 to get them to invite a certain former DS child actor to be on the show, someone who would be recognized primarily for a certain film.  ;D

The DVDs contain the following extras: 0

There's nothing extra in the DVDs, they contain only the episodes themselves.
Hey, I think you're leaving out two extras on the DVDs:

(1) black bars at the top and bottom of the screen
(2) extra light in the day-for-night shots

These add so very much to the viewing experience. They ought not be overlooked.  ;D

. . . she had replaced the movement in Josette's music box with "In the Mood."

Didn't Karlen win an Emmy for this show?
Why are they dissing him?
He did, but the angle of the discussion was probably how it was groundbreaking for women in television.

493
But who knows when I'll actually get to that?  :D
Keeping the Interweb running smoothly is a time-consuming task.  ;D

BTW, the event was sold out well in advance. The MTR usually posts video from these events on their web site; however, based on what I've read, I don't think that Karlen actually participated in the panel discussion.  :(
