The title of the Dark Shadows book is supposed to be My Shadowed Past, and it's intended to be a look at his experience working on the show, but it will also deal with the social and political environment of the 1960s.

If you have never been to a Festival or a personal appearance to hear David Selby read from his books, check out YouTube for a slideshow promoting My Mother's Autumn. It includes David Selby reading one of his poems from the companion compact disc.

Bite your tongue! (Or should that be break your fingers?!) Don't be hating on the jacket!  [ghost_wink]
That jacket held pure awesomeness.  [ghost_grin]

I anxiously await the floatie of Cassandra's hideous caftan -- the one that looks like Roy G. Biv hurled on it.

The Smithsonian will not be doing a live webcast of this event; however, there is a chance that C-SPAN could opt to broadcast it live, but that decision will be very last minute. (As you may or may not know, C-SPAN stations broadcast live online in addition to cable and satellite, so, if whatever C-SPAN station it might be on isn't part of your cable package, you can still watch online).

Regardless of whether it's carried live, it will be available online afterward at some point.

Stay tuned.  [ghost_wink]

Festiv-ALL sounds like fun, even without David Selby.  I can't go this year, but I'll be keeping it in mind for the future.
From what I gather, it's quite the event, and the area hotels tend to fill up.

This information comes from the Charleston Stage Company web site.

David Selby will be involved in Festiv-ALL, a 10-day-long annual event held in June in the city of Charleston, West Virginia, featuring music, theater, dance, visual art and family entertainment.

On Saturday, June 26, at 3:00 PM, at the Walker Theatre in the Clay Center, David will be among the West Virginia writers presenting readings at an event titled In Our Own Words. This event is free.

On Saturday, June 26, at 7:30 PM, at the Walker Theatre in the Clay Center, the Charleston Stage Company will present a staged reading of David Selby's latest play, Appalachian Tragedy. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased by calling 304-561-3570 or visiting the Clay Center's web site.

(There isn't any info on the Clay Center site about tickets as I am posting this, but I'm sure it will be there soon.)

One bit of information to add here. All items sold through the site are signed, and you can request personalized autographs on items.

Too bad they didn't just leave them all blank
Ack! What would've been clever, if they were going to use any text, would be to take quotes from the show.

Apologies for the late notice. David's episode of Mad Men, "The Arrangements," which originally aired last September, will be shown tonight on AMC at 12:03 am ET (midnight-ish). The episode is included on the Season 3 DVD release, which is in stores now and is also available through Netflix. Here's a link to some screen grabs from DavidSelby.com:

And another detail on this event -- A book signing will follow, and David will be signing copies of his novel, Lincoln's Better Angel.

It is the "Where Are They Now" piece. Anyone who is still interested in a copy can find information for ordering back issues of Soap Opera Digest on their web page:
