The LA Theatre Works 2010-2011 season has just been announced. David Selby is slated to appear in a production of Bram Stoker's Dracula with performances to be held May 18-22. Tickets are on sale now. As with all LATW shows, the cast is subject to change without notice due to professional commitments. LA Theatre Works produces live radio theater style performances for eventual broadcast on public radio and/or sale on compact disc, digital download, etc., so please note that this is not a production with sets, costumes, etc.

The promo blurb: "Before Twilight and True Blood, only one vampire commanded 'the children of the night.' In this blood-thirsty tale of unholy terror, Count Dracula slips into Victorian London with a cargo of his native Transylvanian soil - so he can rest between victims. The city seems helpless against his frightful power, and only one man, Dr. Van Helsing, can stop the carnage. But to do this, he must uncover the vampire’s lair and pierce his heart with a wooden stake."

And here's a direct link to the con that KLS is attending:

Just a quick note for anyone attending who is not particularly familiar with Nashville. The area around Opryland, near where this event is being held, was hit hard by flooding earlier this year. The Opry Mills mall remains closed as a result of flood damage. If you're planning to visit anything else in the immediate vicinity, it's probably not a bad idea to confirm that it's still open for business.

David Selby is interviewed in the August 31 issue of Soap Opera Weekly on p. 25. If you can't pick up a copy at your local newsstand, the publication is available digitally from Zinio.

TVShowsonDVD.com has just announced that the second season of Falcon Crest, featuring the arrival of David Selby's Richard Channing, will be available on DVD in the US at the end of the month as an MOD (manufacture on demand) title. More details and cover art:

The TV spot for The Social Network has David Selby in the final seconds:

If the film follows the version of the script that I've seen, then there will be lots of cuts between deposition scenes (and there are multiple lawsuits going on at once) and action scenes, and Selby's character appears to be the attorney of the Winklevoss brothers who have sued Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook multiple times over intellectual property and contractual issues as well as failure to abide by their settlement.

A short video about My Shadowed Past has been posted on YouTube:

Netflix has it.

As I've said, I'm trying to keep an open mind, but I won't really feel completely comfortable until some DS fan whose opinion I trust reads the book and also thinks Grahame-Smith could be capable of coming up with a great script...
Before Grahame-Smith was attached to the DS film, David Selby was asked to write a piece about the book based on his own interest in/writing on Lincoln and I assume also his association with the horror genre through DS. Unfortunately, I don't have the specifics on when and where it will appear.

FWIW, I kind of liked the book, but
[spoiler]I am also a bit uncomfortable with S-G's need to try to make slavery worse somehow for the purposes of his story. The reality was bad enough.[/spoiler]

The premise of the book seems over the top, but he approaches it very seriously, and, when you think about it, isn't that DS in a nutshell?

David Selby's new books are now available for purchase from his official web site:

Just a quick note that David Selby will have two new books at the Festival this weekend. One is a novel. The other is about Dark Shadows. He discusses both of them in the note on the Welcome page of his web site, and there's also a blurb on the News page. If you can't make it to the Fest, both books will be offered through his web site in the near future.

Sony Pictures has launched an official site for The Social Network, an upcoming film about the founding of Facebook whose cast includes David Selby. It's scheduled for an October theatrical release. The site includes the first trailer for the film. Unfortunately, it does not show any scenes, but audio clips are included, and David Selby's voice shows up at least twice:

If you prefer to access the trailer directly through YouTube, it's here:

I haven't seen it. But why do I suspect that a certain member with "ubas" as part of his name might have all her parts memorized?  [wink2]
MB, you've really given me a lot to work with here.  [firedevil]

But does this mean the dvd I ordered of The Girl In Blue from Amazon a few years back was really a bootleg???  [ghost_blink]

This issue came up at the time that DVD version was released. Darren Gross had some useful comments:
